My money on Mankad. Few good performance against quality oppositions. He is the only player ever to score 2 double centuries and also take 2 ten-fers.

Probably someone unlikely we think of like Malcolm Marshall maybe?
If Marshall is going to be one them at least half a dozen more have a case. Hadlee, Pollock, Dev, Imran, Miller who have all attained 600+ bowling points as seen in the list and they will all surely score higher than Marshall in batting.

It's 28 now with inclusion of Laker who I earlier missed out.

I doubt Spofforth and Turner can be ranked higher than Lohman. So other probables are Akhtar, Jadeja (!), Cowie. Unless I am missing someone very obvious.
Any system based purely on stats would have to rank Turner highly - 101 wkts in 17 tests @ 16 (4th best wkts/match of anyone that counts) and all against England who probably were a quality team at that time, even in bowler friendly conditions.

Loving this countdown too btw.

The answer was Shakib Al Hasan, who has batting and bowling ratings above 600 but doesn't make the top 100 in either (yet).

Here are a list of allrounders who have 500 points in both disciplines (note: I haven't fully adjusted their stats yet so these are provisional)

Imran Khan
GS Sobers
IT Botham
JH Kallis
SM Pollock
N Kapil Dev
Shakib Al Hasan
CL Cairns
KR Miller
GA Faulkner
AW Greig
Mushtaq Mohammad
TL Goddard
DL Vettori
A Flintoff

Ravi Jadeja is an expert troll. And he has been trolling me all throughout my work on ranking the test bowlers. There is no way I can get him any lower than no.30 at the moment. What gives him a place in the top 30 is his unbelievable record against quality opposition (even though he takes the vast majority of his wickets at home). In time I predict that his figures against quality opposition will drop somewhat but if he continues taking wickets at home at the current rate then he will keep his place in the top 50, much to the annoyance of cricketweb posters!

As a new feature for the top 30, I have given the rankings for each of the criteria. I hope readers find it enlightening.

Surprised it's that good, era adjustment notwithstanding.

Also shows the issue with quality ranking in the modern age, everyone's quality at home, non-quality away, moreso than any point in the past.

The list became irrelevant as soon as Ryan Harris made the list. Are Australians the gold medalist in hypocrisy ? They idolize Dennis lillee, Greg chapell , Ryan harris and crib about other country's player away record. None of Harris, Chappell and Lillee have even played 5 test in Asia.
