Which is sad coz they are represented as biggest indian cricket forum.....what really ticks me off is the desire to gain attention by almost all users of that site, for example if a thread is there for Eng v India test match, poster will start new threads to discus things that can easily be discussed in that thread.....and the language, Mannnnn, it is disgusting...and most of the posters on that site are people from educated back grounds working in IT industry in US....so thats not ur typical Paaanwaala crowd, but waaaooo dont they act like one, Just Sad!!
thats really is the sad part really.

Cricket, Lovely Cricket
This is not an attack on that article or the site, but rather, an honest question to genuine cricket fans (and India supporters) to discuss- is Cricinfo biased? Or is it just sub-par journalism and editing? The renegades have spoken, so let's hear from the people that matter.
After devoting 90% of your post attacking that article, you slide in a general question. Obviously, it had to end up with people discussing that article and forum rather than Cricinfo. Heh.

Do we really need to bitch about this forum (whatever its name is)?
Anyone who knows where that article was taken from knows that the site's full of trash. The discussion, however, is on Cricinfo. I'd like to know what the Cricket Web community (i.e., sensible, right-thinking cricket fans) has to say about the home of cricket on the internet.

Cricinfo is pretty much the best site ever; it gives you basically live coverage of any international cricket game, as well as pictures and articles and the link. Yeah, it's going to be a bit biased, but it's because the Indian population makes up such a large portion of the market that they have to if they want to be as dominant as they are. But you're going to get bias with whatever publication you read, whether it's a website like Cricinfo or a newspaper like the Sydney Morning Herald.

That said, I don't think the focus on Indian cricket that people talk about is all that noticeable, and it doesn't really take away from anything. Looking at the front page now, there's three articles concerning the announcement of the English Twenty20 squad, while Ponting and McGrath are in the main picture. However, if I was from somewhere like South Africa or the West Indies, whose first class cricket doesn't seem to get much attention from the site, I might feel differently, but from my point of view, it's great.

Stupid article though, it's not as if India are beyond criticism anyway. Hooray, you finally won a test match outside of India. How about you win another one this year?

I find it a pleasant ego stroking trip to remind yourself that is the best cricket forum out there.

Dire article. The tragedy of the Internet is that its provided a home for every demented paranoic out there who's convinced that there's a worldwide conspiracy against him, his nation, his religion whatever, and given them access to reams of unfiltered crap which they can selectively read to feed their delusions, and a platform to selectively present that crap and expound on their theories of persecution.

CricInfo is pretty neutral from what I can tell. Individual columnists might have their opinions and biases, but there's a distinction in every media outlet between the opinions of columnists employed to provide commentary, and the editorial/news sections who are meant to provide factual accounts. Cricinfo seems to me to respect that distinction, and what's more, employ a variety of columnists who: a) are all by-and-large not loonies given to extreme viewpoints, and b) come from a variety of backgrounds, hence providing some balance. Apart from anything else, given a huge chunk of their audience, and I'd suspect an even larger proportion of their sponsorship comes from India, why on earth does anyone think the management would tolerate an anti-Indian bias in their publications?

I think the rant Arjun has drawn to our attention says more about the pettiness and complexes of the author than it does about Cricinfo...

Bradman IMO:)

It's ridiculous how good most of your posts are Matt. Should win a Bradman, IMO.
IMO,Matt79 is one of the truly finest posters on CW Forum but its really sad that he's not rewarded with as much awards as he deserves. He makes less posts than many of the other members but his posts are of some real quality most & its always a pleasure reading them.

When Matt posts regurly he always does very well, in fact I think he has one at least two if not three Bradmans. A good post may well win him an Afridi but we expect a little more posting to win the big one:)

Still agree one of the best on here when he is on here:wacko:

But CW has the forum, which automatically makes it better than CricInfo.

And as you know, with any look the exclusives on CW will be looking-up around about now.
