Because some flaws result in failure.
Yes, some don't as well, but in this case I think it has.
So therefore I think it's appropriate to bring it up.
and how did it result in failure?
if you had analyzed hicks career, which im certain you didnt, given that you only started watching cricket since 2001, you would see quite clearly that he wasnt troubled much by the short ball.
incidentally if you look at the dismissalls of the 2 bowlers who troubled him most - ambrose and waqar, you'd see that they got him bowled and caught behind far more often than they got him out caught.

No he isn't, just a normal county pro who hits the ball hard.

Nothing more.
which is all that matters to arjun. the players that can hit more 6s are apparently the better players.

There was that match in the VB Series, where the English were chasing a total of slihtly over 250. Trescothick and Knight got a century partnership, till Tresco got out. Blackwell was sent at Number 3, he didn't spot the ball well at all. He was sent higher up to score quick, but scratched for not too many. That's the problem- lack of application.
No, the problem is more lack of ability.

its not really lack of ability. blackwell isnt the worst player in terms of technique. its just that he lacks application and temperament.

True, he has a unique talent to hit the ball as he cleanly as he does. Lacks application maybe, lacks temprament no, he is very relaxed at the crease. I just feel some players take to higher class cricket and burst onto the scene, and some dont.

yeah he has been very disappointing, i was expecting him to become zimbabwe's leading test batsman when he came onto the international scene but he hasn't done much at all

don bradman always dissapointed me.... lol no but seriously... symonds dissapoints me in the longer version of the game, has the potential to be a gilly type batter but pokes around too much.... Russel arnold too maybe, has the potential to be awesome, when he came to australia he belted us in a few innnings, havent heard too much since... lou vincent too for sure.... made a hundred in australia a few years ago i think??.... has he fell off the face of the earth?

maybe that was the thought after his debut test, but never before it and the his true form shone through in the end

haha really? fair enough.... does he make any runs in domestic cricket these days or what? any chance of an international re-call?

mark waugh's major problem was that he didn't go on to make enough big hundreds. i mean, he averaged a score above fifty once every 3.1 innings's, which is a fantastic record. you can say that he was disappointing because everyone just wanted to continue to watch him bat when he went out, because he was as attractive a batsman as you will see.

and on the bond thing, it made me cast my mind back to brad williams, who used to bowl dead set rapid until he had back problems, and remodelled himself as a fast medium bowler (still a ****** before and after tho).

well there's a few batsman in front of him in the middle order pecking order ATM, he makes a few scores in domestic cricket(got 90 the other day) but he's never really been very consistent at all

ohk, i think s its fair to say nz's need a few more top class batsmen along with bowlers in tests, i just have a feeling sinclair doesnt have what it takes to thrive at no. 1..... do you think thats fair to say? no doubt about his catching ability though :P... wouldnt mind him just playing ODI's alone?

yeah he's definately not an opener, his game is also more suited to tests - in one dayers he struggles to rotate the strike and can get pegged down easily

you might have been born in the same country as lou vincent and matthew sinclair(and scott styris for that matter) but your not eligible for NZ as far as i know mate
