Dev League Suggestions

Easy... if a team gets rid of 4 players (id say thats about the max a team would get rid off) then they get 4 picks and if a team gets rid of no one then they only get enough picks to cover the increase in squad size if there is one. Once all teams have decdided on there sqaud then Liam and the rest of the board can put together the draft list.

The lower teams get earleir picks and the better teams get higher picks. If teams get rid of different amoutns of players then you compensate for that by them skipping rounds 2,3,4 and 5. ETC

Anyway understand what i mean :) ?

And how do you decide how to organise the picks when it's not a simple round-based thing where each have the same picks.

Look back at the AAAAAABBCCCCDDDDE scenario earlier in the thread...

On another point Liam, any response to that email I sent the other day?

I echo what tharmi said, some people might stay rookies for very long times, while some might not, and when your a rookie, i assuming the proposed plan will have u for draft whther you like it or not?

Oooh. Saw it there this morning and meant to reply... then got distracted by a shiny thing. I like the idea, and once a method can be agreed upon by everyone, we can slip into place asap.

Excellent - it certainly will be a more even system.

Hmm, does it have anything to do with the VC4 style of having "games played" effect simming average at all? :-O I doubt it.. but look...a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush

Err.. it would go..

5th team: 1,6,11,16
4th Team:2,7,12,17
3rd Team:3,8,13,18
2nd Team:4,9,14,19
1st Team:5,10,15,20.

If you're trying to include priority picks, they still don't apply..
Why no priority picks?, Just because of the small number of teams?

Do you know how priority picks are given out? I don't think so - if a team (in AFL) has 20 points or less in the entire home and away season, they are given a priority pick. That's how it works.

Maybe if we could find a reasonable number of points to set as the limit for a priority pick - but it'd be silly in my opinion. As in the AFL, teams would "tank" (lose games deliberately to get priority picks). And the Dev League is too even for priority picks to work - any team can beat another team on a given day - in the AFL it's not so.

Yes it is.. lol did Hawthorn not beat West Coast?? and Brisbane?? and i think maybe even Sydney.. also the comp was fairly even this year. Correct me of im wrong about these points as, although i follow football very heavily i am only thinking very lightly about the wins lol and im only 90% sure about all three of them..

but yer a draft system could work in this game but i dontt hink we really need it.. CWXI is a great concept and it is great in its basic form.
