not really bowling twelve in a day is not enough...... What really f*cks u up is when u play a juniors match in the morning bowl 12 then back up with a seniors match on sat arvo and open the bowling and bowl like 22, then back u the next day and play club juniors bowl 10 and then that afternoon bak up and play colts and bowl 10. That really f**ks up up and doing that week in week out for a season really screws u over. By the end of the season u are looking forward to that well earned season break.

Haha nah, that`s for one-dayers in club competition. And I think it`s 36 overs anyway. Normally it`s about 60 for us. 60 is a *(&#(^#(@_@, but it`s all good. What sucks is bowling twelve in a day...
I bowled 16-6-32-1 or something on the deadest pitch i've ever seen. The other team batted for 100 overs, declaring on 6/330. I probably bowled about five deliveries that went above knee height, in fact my only wicket was from a stumping. Second time i've had that happen. Our opening bowler picked up a wicket from an intended bouncer, which turned into a long-hop, and clipped the top of off-stump.

That's why the ECB are hot on limiting the overs that juniors can bowl.

its limited out here, in spells that is in most comps, so it limits most juniors to 10 in an innings

in wa its 12 for district and 10 for club juniors. But in senior matches there is a limit but u dont have to infrom the umpires that u are underage so in effect in my district team neway we dont say im underage and there is no limit. also in club seniors there is no limit put on bowling

Scott Brant played for the Bulls in a Pura Cup final against Tassie a few seasons back and because he was 18 and therefore U/19 he could only bowl a certain number of overs in a spell and a certain number in a day, can't remember the exact number something like 8 over spells, and 18 in a day.

Man that`s just crazy.

I`m so glad I don`t play on a Sunday... that`d probably screw my body up. I guess I`ll never know.

YOU`LL NEVER HAVE ME REPS! I REJECT YOU!

Wonder what would happen if the club were found out.

ECB Directives

Code:
Age Spells Day
Up to 13 4 overs per spell 8 overs per day
U14, U15 5 overs per spell 10 overs per day
U16, U17 6 overs per spell 18 overs per day
U18, U19 7 overs per spell 21 overs per day
For the purposes of these Directives a fast bowler is defined as a bowler to whom a wicket keeper in the same age group would in normal circumstances stand back to take the ball. Having completed a spell the bowler cannot bowl again, from either end, until the equivalent number of overs to the length of his* spell have been bowled from the same end. A bowler can change ends without ending his current spell provided that he bowls the next over that he legally can from the other end. If this does not happen his spell is deemed to be concluded. If play is interrupted, for any reason, for less than 40 minutes any spell in progress at the time of the interruption can be continued after the interruption up to the maximum number of overs per spell for the appropriate age group. If the spell is not continued after the interruption the bowler cannot bowl again, from either end, until the equivalent number of overs to the length of his spell before the interruption have been bowled from the same end. If the interruption is of 40 minutes or more, whether scheduled or not, the bowler can commence a new spell immediately.

Once a bowler covered by these Directives has bowled in a match he cannot exceed the maximum number of overs per day for his age group even if he subsequently bowls spin. He can exceed the maximum overs per spell if bowling spin, but cannot then revert to bowling fast until an equivalent number of overs to the length of his spell have been bowled from the same end. If he bowls spin
without exceeding the maximum number of overs in a spell the maximum will apply as soon as he reverts to bowling fast. Captains, Team Managers and umpires are asked toensure that these Directives are followed at all times.

*Any reference to he/his should be interpreted to include she/her.

Age groups are based on the age of the player at midnight on 31st August in the year preceding the
current season.
