Specialist Batsmen/Keeper: Batting (Max 45), Bowling (Min 40)
Specialist Bowler: Bowling (Min 20), Batting (Max 30)
All Rounder: Batting (Max 40), Bowling (Min 25)
Just gotta say man....those playeres are tooooooooo awesome. They are all allrounders if yo uask me, brilliant ones at that. If at any time your batting aver age is higher than our bowling average, that makes you a pretty damn good player!

Conglulations to Black for winning the 5D or Timeless title, maybe the Blues can step up next season and we will be there. Good luck to both sides and the their players in the OD Final, should be a very interesting game.

I though it was quite funny reading some of the reaction to thamba's sign up. He just put down his career stats and some people just had a go at him. I've seen allot of batsmen just like him who can bowl and keep effectively. Also most top bowlers in club generally average under 20, my career average is 15 or so. I put in 25 cus i didn't like my batting average of 7. But if u really want people to put down their club stats then u are going to get bowlers with averages of under 20 or all rounders will averages of just over 20. I think the only way to slove this is by putting guidelines to what type of stats u can put in. For example something like this:
Specialist Batsmen/Keeper: Batting (Max 45), Bowling (Min 40)
Specialist Bowler: Bowling (Min 20), Batting (Max 30)
All Rounder: Batting (Max 40), Bowling (Min 25)

This is just my 2 cents
I think Batting and Bowling should be interlinked - ie; you don't have 40 bat and 25 bowl, you need to make a compromise :-O

exactly. we have all the all-rounders we need really, in fact, too many! i would quite like at the max TWO of every TEN players who sign up from now on to be a specialist.

To Liam, Lord, Important People (Steds), I propose that a statement is issued with regards to this situation. Itd be great if you could talk to All-rounders currently in the system and ask them to become a specialist. Obviously you dont have to make anyone do it, but I think if you formally put foward the request, a lot of people would take up the offer. I would quite like this WHOLE THING to be as realistic as possible, and I really liked the addition of the Coach (even though Richard, you havent done a huge lot, I like having you around :) ) and the fact that we have real player names.
I find it rather UN-realistic having practically everyone in the team being able to bowl. Id also imagine that specialists (like myself) would be annoyed (ever so slightly :p ) that they dont get that much of a bowl. I am very happy that I have been given a huge opportunity with the ball the last two season. But I dont think everyone is getting a fair shot at it. I guess this arguement is rather biased towards me and my bowling friends, but then again, everyone HAS to bat.
When I signed up, I had a batting average of just below 20 I think, but my batting has not prospered much at all (average of 4 this season)... and I dont care! Its awesome being a bunny, it makes me grateful for every run I get :D Seriously, even though in real life I average now 17 with the bat, I quite like being not as successful with the bat, its a different role and a fun one.
Obviously, if you really want to be an all-rounder, go ahead! :D The CWXI needs you! But we cant all be all-round spectaculars!

So yea, to all all-rounders in the CW, I issue you with an un-official proposal to drop a skill, or at least decrease it somewhat, to make this a more fun, and realistic experience for all :)

I still think the system worked out in Daniel's thread at the start of the season - with some random variables up and down - is decent. But for the players already in the system, something must be done...

In real life, unless your playing serious cricket, in like your country;s proper leagues, dont bowl a bit, along with your specialist skill. I know, I do, I come in at aorund 5/6/7/8 and just sorta bat for my team. Along with that, Im the opening bowler, i mean, unless you're serevely specialisng in to one thing, and totally hopeless at the other, yur going to keep getting a chance. And lots of people, I know, work on their bowling and batting. I know, I'd be bored to death, If i just bowled, having second string to your bow, is really fun for me.
On a more happier note, GO BLACKS, !!!!!, Great Victory.

All i was trying to say is that maybe u need guidelines so new players have a greater idea of what type of stats are expectable, maybe the guidelines i put in my other replay made then all rounders. Maybe to bowlers but i can't see how an average of over 40 with the bowl makes u an all rounder. But from my small experience with CW XI i can see their are too many all rounders, but there isn't too many people out their who don't think they can bat and bowl effectively especially in club cricket.

All of this is being discussed in another thread as advised by age master. Just go to the Player's Association Forum (found just below this forum) and click into the 'Finding a balance' thread. Most of the things people are complaining about have already been addressed.

Suck it up Malone. We can't all play. Try and support the team even though I know you will anyway....I hope.

I kind of agree with Bugs here...

We have been asked for opinions on the team all season yet it comes to the Biggest game of the season and we dont have a say...

Fair enough if his season record aint that good, BUT why does the system change with 2 games to go...

This was spoken about at the start of the season and i thought it was sorted, obviously not...
