I heard bookmakers are paying out on doubles placed on Arsenal to win the premier league and Black to win Dev Season VII
Considering that the journeyman Mr Mxyzptlk is wearing Blue this season, I'd have to disagree with that. I predict Reds to win the 25Smash and Black to win everything else.

A quick thingy here:

Warmup games:
11th Aug
Black and Blue: Black will beat Blue Black and Blue
Red and Green: Red will beat Green, with Mr Sheen?
or maybe
Red and Green: Red will beat Green, by Umpteen?

12th Aug
Red and Blue: The two opposing colors what a battle this will be.
Black and Green: Black will beat Green Black and Green?

Paid's Final Thought: If the first game is a five dayer, how are they playing a one dayer the the next day (Day2 of the five dayer)

As captain, I intend to make sure everyone in CW Black gets a fair go this season.

Blue must be beaten, however!

Season 7 Warmups

Coach's Comments:

Too much shouldn't be read into these games in terms of poor performance. The good performances are rather a better indication of things to come this season.

Please note that Nath Patrick represented the CW Black team in this game, but will represent CW Blue this season. The warmup games is intent on getting as many people match practice as possible. Patrick will also play in the OD warmup for the Blacks.

CW Blue v CW Black
It was a matchup of true quality this one. Some good bowling and some gutsy batting made for a nerve-wrecking finish as the Blues batted to a draw. Daniel Muhaffy was the star with the ball, taking 8 wickets and bowling with good pace and aggression. All the bowlers bowled extremely accurately though and the batsmen struggled to get the ball off the square. A brilliant century from Ash Chaulk (dropped by StUEy on 0 - 2nd ball - and by Halsey on 35) held the Blacks 1st knock together, along with patient contributions from Master Blaster (dropped by Broncoman on 3) and Ferd (dropped by Broncoman on 1).

Looking at a good total, the Blues looked to be more positive early and it proved their downfall, with the top three back for little. Nath Patrick and Master Blaster found some great rhythm and knocked back the Blues steadily. There was some chancy resistance from Toogood (dropped by Hunter on 42, by Ferd on 44 and by Chaulk on 47), Jellett (dropped by Chaulk on 23) and Muhaffy, but ultimately the Blacks claimed a hefty lead.

More steady building, but the Blues fought back and never allowed the batsmen to get on top. BK Smith (dropped by Craig on 70) scored a fine half-century, but no one else really stood up and Muhaffy starred again.

Set some 395 runs to win in 66 overs, wickets tumbled in Master Blaster's first over and the Blues had their backs to the wall. However a determined unbeaten partnership between Craig (dropped by Craig off Pickup on 44) and Muhaffy saw some 84 runs added and the Blues to safety.

1st Test played at CW Oval.
Cricket Web Black 1st Innings 352 all out
Chaulk 123, Blaster 56, Muhaffy 4-63, Halsey 2-79
Cricket Web Blue 1st Innings 210 all out
Toogood 47, Muhaffy 37, Patrick 3-36, Hunter 2-38
Cricket Web Black 2nd Innings 242 all out
Smith 84, Blaster 28, Muhaffy 4-39, Halsey 2-25
Cricket Web Blue 2nd Innings 141 for 5
Craig 64*, Muhaffy 33*, Blaster 4-33, Hunter 1-29
Test Match Drawn.

CW Red v CW Green
The Reds and Greens got the first taste of the much anticipated PDV Dome pitch. However, it was spin that played a crucial role in the end result.

Winning the toss and bowling first on the deadly surface, Kennett, Khan and Ghansar had the Greens hopping and all out for 154, due largely to some late resistance from Rose and Hoy. Batting around the anchor of Samuel Vimes, the Reds top order all got starts, but no one really carried on.

As the pitch had flattened out a bit more, Waughney and Lord of Darkness were brought into the attack. Darkness would prove the star here, snaring 4 wickets in limiting the Reds to 205 all out.

Waughney and Eyes put on a decent partnership for the first wicket, until Ghansar slipped a ball between bat and pad. Eyes (dropped by Zebra on 91, by Mookerjee on 94 and by Vimes on 103) continued onward though, scoring a fine hundred and receiving great support from Biased Indian (dropped by Zebra on 51) and captain Age Master (dropped by Kennett on 4, by Dave on 55 and by Zebra on 56). Zebra then took two key wickets, then Dave roared through the tail for a 5-wicket haul.

Having dismissed the Greens for 370, the Reds set about to chase 320 runs but lost Vimes and his offstump early in the piece. Mookerjee was tight and he and Bugssy battled a recovery, but just as Bugs looked to be set, he misjudged one and padded up to Sanz. Marc worked hard to get himself in, but never really looked at his best was dismissed then followed by Markus soon after.

Deeps, Ghansar and Dave all showed true heart and spirit, but nothing was to come of it and 235 was the end score. Sanz claimed 3 wickets to lead the Greens.

1st Test played at PDV Dome.
Cricket Web Green 1st Innings 154 all out
Rose 27, Hoy 21*, Ghansar 3-18, Khan Jr. 3-25
Cricket Web Red 1st Innings 205 all out
Vimes 70, Marc71178 27, Darkness 4-23, Delkap 2-19
Cricket Web Green 2nd Innings 370 all out
Only 110, Indian 83, Dave 5-79, Ghansar 2-47
Cricket Web Red 2nd Innings 235 all out
Ghansar 56*, Mookerjee 50, Sanz 3-38, Delkap 2-42
Cricket Web Green won by 84 runs.

Unsure if im happy with that game. Team lost, which was a downer, but a 5/w haul + 18 and 32 with the bat is decent enough. Marathon bowling in the second innings, 40.3 overs only giving away 79 runs, i'll take that.

Some good team performances, i think we have alot to look forward to this season. Should be good =)

I'm actually quite happy for the team. We showed that we can bowl well with the new ball, fast, we had some good knocks, and we definitely lost while trying to win. All in all, we've just got to increase our concentration, and then I think we'll be a feared team.

The reds seem ready for the season, the spirit was there only that the hands and legs were not moving fast enough. Lets get them warmed up too .
