CW's Ranking of Pace Bowlers (Tests)

You know, this is a tough one. I actually think in terms of sheer quality he's 100% one of the top 10 I've ever seen. Not sure whether to rank him high or just ignore him entirely because his career is pretty short so far.
It's worth noting that Alan Davidson was #15 despite him only being a regular for five and a half years (1957/58 - 1962/63). That's not much longer than Cummins. And their quality was pretty similar.

Cummins passes the eye test and is obviously a phenomenal bowler. His record is also pretty insane even when compared against the top bowlers during his career.

Points against him atm are only that:

- Very friendly bowling era
- Only 5 years of cricket
- Comfortably ahead of his peers (except maybe Rabada) but not exactly out of reach

Hard to put him ahead of guys like Roberts for now imo

Roberts. Last of the ATGs in my eyes. After him we have to start picking between a quality drop and a longevity one.

Yeah, I suppose there's an element of probability to it, it's just that I think there's a very high chance he easily ends up above some of the bowlers above him in the list and little chance he doesn't.
This is a very valid point..
