CW's Ranking of Pace Bowlers (Tests)

Bolo.

International Captain
Peter Pollock played after Adcock and was widely regarded as RSA's best ever quick before the top draw guys like Proctor and VD Bijl arrived.

I have zero idea if conventional wisdom is right here... it often isnt.

International Captain
Bishop being voted in before Wes Hall among West Indian quicks is a surprise to me - I would have thought Wesley would be next in line.
Fair call.

Bishop pre injury was the devil incarnate though. Plenty of people rated him above Ambrose at the height of Ambrose's pomp, and the height of Ambrose's pomp was crazy.

Bishop obliterated his record by playing post injury and still ended up with stats similar to Holding.

Cricketer Of The Year
Oh yeah for sure - Bishop was a wonderful bowler, and could have been anything but for those injuries.

This. But for injuries, Bishop would have (imo) ended up with a better record than Ambrose.
