I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Aaah...match is turning slightly...

We still have a good lead. Hopefully Butler can farm the strike and get us well past 500.

Lead is still short of 200 here. Need a bit of resistance from the tail or Australia are still in with a chance.

Day 3 Lunch: CW XI 5/438

The Cricket Web XI batsmen played exceptionally on day two to roll into the driver's seat of this decisive Test match. Brendan Goff was the star with his second consecutive Test hundred and third first-class ton on tour. Now the Australians will have to look for early wickets to get back into this game.

94.6 Gillespie to Butler: he wastes no time in getting going there! Vintage cover drive and FOUR runs. 300 up...
103.6 Clark to Butler: poorly lined and flicked away convincingly... FOUR!
The Aussies really labouring out there - 50 extras now!
104.6 Gillespie to Butler: clipped very fine of his thigh... and...FOUR! Onto 49 now...
105.5 Clark to Butler: and that's one way to get it! High, hard and SIX! Fifty for Butler in true style!
107.4 Clark to Goff: lofted over midoff and that'll run away for FOUR more! Chaos in the middle and the crowd isn't sure what to make of it!
108.2 Warne to Butler: tossed up and driven through the covers! Great shot! FOUR!
108.3 Warne to Butler: a bit more flight and he lofted it into the hands of Langer at short extra cover... but he's dropped the ball... oh dear, Ponting looks utterly perplexed.

Ponting into the attack!

115.4 Ponting to Goff: captain against captain and Goff takes this one... for FOUR! 150 up for him!

BJ Goff 153 (254 balls), 15 fours, 0 sixes

116.6 Warne to Butler: turned off his pads for a single - 200-run partnership!

119.4 Ponting to Goff: slammed past point and away for FOUR! Highest Test score for Brendan Goff!
120.2 Warne to Butler: short and pulled into the gap - FOUR!
120.3 Warne to Butler: FULL TOSS! Timed past midon and FOUR more!
Even Warne is losing the plot now!
123.6 Symonds to Goff: SWUNG AWAY... and TAKEN! A huge sigh of relief for Symonds as he punches the air. That was very well-judged by Lee at deep midwicket. That ends a fine innings from Brendan Goff. One of the best by a CW XI player, surely. Huge ovation, as even the Australians clap him off the field.

Code:
BJ Goff c Lee b Symonds 170 (279)
126.2 Warne to Kearsley: ooh sharp chance... TAKEN! Hayden took a good low catch and are things turning once again?

Code:
DA Kearsley	c Hayden b Warne	1 (8)
And they take lunch.

132.4 Warne to Butler: in and OUT! DROPPED! Now Ponting is in on the act. Unbelievable!
133.1 Lee to Camps: BOWLED! His miserable tour continues as he's yorked by a quick Lee delivery.

Code:
LA Camps b Lee 1 (17)
133.5 Lee to Hoy: DROPPED! Gilchrist puts down another. Oh dear...
135.5 Lee to Hoy: GONE! Lee really fired up here. That one flew off the shoulder of the bat and Hussey hangs on! Collapse in full flow!

Code:
NS Hoy c Hussey b Lee 1 (12)
139.4 Lee to Kennett: TAKEN! Australia really enjoying this period of play. Kennett goes without scoring and Lee gets his third!

Code:
DM Kennett	c Hayden b Lee 0 (13)
139.5 Lee to Thomas: flicked off his toes for one...two runs... good shot and some pressure released.
142.2 Warne to Butler: he was waiting a while for it, but he gets it - short, wide, FOUR! Hundred for Chris Butler. An excellent innings by the young man.

CR Butler 100 (239 balls), 11 fours, 1 six

A tired Lee will be replaced by Jason Gillespie. Excellent 8-over spell by the quick bowler.

Yes! Congrats, Butler. And Lee is gone now, too. Milk Gillespie for some more runs. :)
