Thomas gets his man in the end, but 105 runs for the last wicket... shocking. And you have to say it was the fielding that let us down. Let's pick ourselves back up and make a strong statement in our next innings.

Mentally this is really a crap time to go in to bat. Played pathetically dropping chances to allow Aussies back into the match.

But the match isn't over yet. Nothing to be discouraged over. They still have to bat in a weary pitch in the 4th inning.

We had them, we let them go, but the game is still definitely within our grasp, lets win this!

I'm confident we can still win it from here as we're still very much in this match and we need to do nothing but concentrate on winning.

Big partnership this. How's the weather? Fine and sunny on a track getting drier?
Not a cloud in the sky. The track still without a crack. Perfect conditions for batting.

Just 39 more to go and the opening stand record is broken.

Thought as much. Let's occupy the crease for as long as we want to, then. :D

Unlikely Håkster. Still, a very strong position we've put ourselves in. I'm off to bed, will have to check the result in the morning.

41.2 Warne to Mørk: pushing forward and that's a big shout. Warne gets it! Once again he's plucked a wicket from nowhere.

Well batted mate :)

Day 3 Lunch: CW XI 0/63
Day 3 Tea: CW XI 3/165
Australia with the slight advantage of 14 runs now, and with a very fresh bowling attack.

Here's Lee...
0.2 Lee to Mamesh: he looks to flick it... that's beaten Gilchrist - FOUR legbyes.

3.4 Gillespie to Mamesh: he goes hard at it and that will beat the gully for FOUR! It was in the air though...

4.3 Lee to Mørk: lovely orthodox cover drive for FOUR.

6.5 Lee to Mamesh: crashed over point - FOUR runs. Mamesh not easing away from his natural game.
6.6 Lee to Mamesh: and again! Same ball, same area, same result! FOUR!

8.6 Lee to Mamesh: DROPPED! Oh dear. Hayden will be kicking himself for that one. It was hit hard, but he takes those 9 times out of 10.

The hero with the bat, Clark comes on to try to impact with the ball...
10.1 Clark to Mamesh: half-volley dealt with supremely! Mamesh welcomes him with a boundary.
10.2 Clark to Mamesh: turned away to the legside for an easy single.
10.3 Clark to Mørk: pitched up and time beautifully past the diving midoff... FOUR! Clark getting hammered!

Warne into the attack with the seamers struggling early on.

22.1 Lee to Mamesh: hit hard into the pitch and it bounces over Lee's head... that could be... it is FOUR. Fifty for the young man. Very good innings.

30.4 Watson to Mørk: too short - pulled away - FOUR.

41.2 Warne to Mørk: pushing forward and that's a big shout. Warne gets it! Once again he's plucked a wicket from nowhere.

Code:
H Mørk lbw b Warne [B]39 (134)[/B]
43.2 Warne to Mamesh: rocks back and square cut executed to perfection - FOUR runs! Mamesh moves onto 94 now... approaching that maiden milestone of which we dare not speak...

44.1 Gillespie: HOWZAT?!? And that's why we dare not speak of it! Mamesh goes so close to maiden Test hundred. The young man looks to be shattered as he walks off. Australia right back in it.

Code:
T Mamesh lbw b Gillespie [B]95 (126)[/B]
45.3 Warne to Cloete: pushing forward and TAKEN!!! Shane Warne is beside himself in celebration. He's bowling Australia back into this game!

Code:
AP Cloete c Hussey b Warne	[B]0 (5)[/B]
And that's tea with the game poised on a knife-edge!

51.3 Lee to Goff: BOUNCER and hooked away... one bounce... FOUR!
51.6 Lee to Butler: what a shot! Not a fielder moved. That's a perfect cover drive.

52.4 Warne to Goff: back for the cut... juggled!... held! Gilchrist takes a good catch and the Webheads lose another! The captain gone now.

Code:
BJ Goff c Gilchrist b Warne	[B]23 (36)[/B]
54.6 Warne to Butler: flighted and timed very well through the covers for FOUR. Butler looking very organized here.

56.2 Warne to Kearsley: pushing and DOWN! Martyn couldn't hang on to that at gully. Very attacking field here, and Kearsley feeling the pressure.

60.3 Warne to Butler: around the wicket and turning a long way into him... Butler looked to work it to the onside and just ends up with his stumps disturbed. Warne takes another!

Code:
CR Butler b Warne [B]16 (35)[/B]
62.5 Warne to Camps: he looks to play to the onside and it's popped up into the air. Caught! Good low catch by Clark diving forward at midoff.

Code:
LA Camps c Clark b Warne [B]1 (7)[/B]
67.5 Clark to Kearsley: good shot to relieve some of the tension. FOUR.

69.3 Clark to Kearsley: whipped off his pads and that runs away for FOUR! Great timing.

71.5 Clark to Kearsley: and Australia get their man! Kearsley tried to hit that back past the bowler, but Clark took a good one handed catch off his own bowling. Further trouble for the CW XI. Good little knock comes to an end.

72.6 Warne to Hoy: driving and BOWLED through the gate! Not a very good shot, but some good drift and flight to get that wicket. Warne has 6 and counting...

Code:
NS Hoy b Warne [B]6 (32)[/B]
