NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Great Test, just fell short.

Unlucky guys, you played well, and nearly got the reward.

Surveying the field we see a collection of Cricket Web players who feel they let it slip.

Neil Pickup is on his knees clutching at the grass at the side of the striker's end. Mørk stands with arms folded watching the West Indian celebration.

Goff and Cunningham have gone over to shake the hands of Lewis and Edwards.

Mamesh is lying flat on the ground with the helmet still on. He appears to be in tears and Cloete goes to offer him a hand to get up.

Nathan Hoy has run to the boundary line and kicked over an advertising board and now is just sitting by the rope whilst the crowd celebrates behind him.

"This test was brought to you by Nibbs Breath Fresh Mints. Mmm, that's a fresh suck!"
The CWBCC was also approached by Greg Thomas' company "Geg's [something something]". I can't for the life of me remember what the company sells though, so that's my pathetic attempt at an advertisement.

Unbelievable.

Monstrous effort from everyone. Stellar performance from Hoy IMO...

I've just read through that scrolling down, line by line. Just like watching the summer - a fantastic Test match with almost everything you could possibly ask for.

Absolutely gutted not to close it out, though. Four balls weren't enough :(

Oh. One of those matches we deserved to win with the fight back after the initial fall of wickets. In the end the drop catches did cost us.

The way we fought back in the tour game and here, it gives me a lot of happiness. But for now it is very depressing we couldn't win it.

Oh well a night's sleep should let us get over it and focus on the second test and look at the positives while improving weaknesses.

BTW this is a GREAT idea Liam. Just think that for international matches timings should be informed 24 if not 36 hours in advance. Also a morning time 5 AM to 9 AM or an evening time 9 PM to 12 midnight IST is a time I can be there usually. If people can put up there preferences it can help deciding time for the next match to get a larger audience. Of course it has to suit Liam who sims it all!

Feedback regarding in-thread live sims: The more short little comments you put in about sixes being hit or decisions pending, partnerships building, etc, the more exciting it is. :) In the Dev games you just did scorecards for the most part, in this you added in a whole lot more with dropped catch alerts and so forth, very much enjoyed it, especially the emphasis on the end.

Yep. It's a work in progress. It's getting there quickly though. Simming this match seemed more like an actual Test match than any live sim I've done before.

The last four overs took an hour, though. That's overkill.

Who's about and interested in a sim around now? I'm neither here nor there, so it's up to the people and what they want.
