Campbell's Chunky Soup brings you another around the tables update...

Buddhy Blackman has been disqualified from frame 1 for repeatedly clubbing an audience member with a chair leg. He was losing anyway.

Frame 2 should be a ripper.

Further updates indicate that frame 2 has also been cancelled, as Blackman has not been granted bail. Andy Cameron advances to the second round.

In perhaps the biggest upset of the tournament's warm up matches so far, Andy Cameron has upstaged veteran Darren Murphy 69-45 in front of a packed house.

Indeed.

On another note, the matchup between Richards and Casson is square at 1-1. A first frame time out disqualification put Casson ahead, but the second frame went the distance and Richards' class shone through.

The thrilling conclusion is underway on table 5 in Vegas.

Campbell's Chunky...

Richards clinches the match against Casson with a strong third frame, and progresses to face Hakon in round 2.

Geg Thomas also beat Fuller in a stunning display that should see him a big favourite against whoever his first round opponant turns out to be.

Round 1
Jamee vs Mitchell
Richards vs Casson - Richards advances
Cameron vs Blackman - Cameron advances
Crampton vs Rose
Wright vs Stedman
Pasag vs Nayak - Nayak advances
Thomas vs Someone! Could it be you?
Threes vs Alternative - Alternative advances

With any luck we can knock over the rest of the games in the next day or two and move on to round 2.

I wouldn't put too much money on me. I'm rather like Richmond. Moments of brilliance, largley followed by utter crap...:)

Alto gets up in amazing comeback

The crowd gathered at table 3 for what promised to be a fairly even contest between the out of sorts Borcich and the dogged Alto. Borcich took total control early, eventually building a 42-8 lead. Borcich began to get ****y and even started to take shots using various body parts. But this ****yness would become Borcich's downfall. Alto began playing some terrific comeback snooker, and eventually clawed his way back in it. The scores were tied with the pink and the black still standing, This is when Alto stepped up and showed his true brilliance, seemingly snookered, he hit powerfully into the pink ball and managed to get a deflection that would see it potted. He then calmfully potted the black ball to complete a 47 point run and a 55-42 win.

Another update courtesy of Campbell's Chunky Soup.
