And the fact that they actually demand a variation - "Don't call me Dave! I'm David!" or "It's DAVE! NOT DAVID!"

After extensively looking over all sorts of FC statistics and the like, the following team has been named for the Bowling XI to play the five day game. Ordered by FC batting average from season 8.

Bowling XI
MW Wilson (CW Black)
BC Cunningham (CW Green)
TV Weber (CW Green)
NS Hoy (CW Green)
S Bhatia (CW Black)
DJ Watt (CW Red)
TC Halsey (CW Blue) (pending confimation of availability)
R Timewell (CW Green)
NS Pickup (CW Black)
DM Kennett (CW Red)
TJ Demeza (CW Blue)
12th Man: NA Borcich (CW Red)
13th Man: AAA Collins (CW Blue)

Neil Pickup is invited to return as 5D Bowling XI captain for the second season in a row.

Wright was not included as he had confirmed he will not be available for the charity matches. Should Halsey not confirm availability by the 21st, Borcich will enter the starting XI and AAA Collins will become 12th Man.

Bowling XI still to be confirmed for the OD match and Batting XI still to be confirmed for both matches. Dev League XI also still in the selection process.
He he, oh it's a great feeling to know that even in a bowling only team, I still bat at 11.
Ha ha.
Officialy, the worst bat ever.

Okay... presenting the Dev League XI to take on the CW Bar XI. A very strong side indeed, and all players were fighting strong for their positions, some only made it into the side by the slightest of margins, and some players were very unlucky to miss out.

Dev League XI
RJ Dauth (CW Red)
GKK Dobson (CW Red)
DA Kearsley (CW Black)
MW DeSilva (CW Blue)
DY Dubb-Lynch (CW Black)
DP Towns (CW Green) (captain... may God have mercy on our souls)
MW Wilson (CW Black)
BC Cunningham (CW Green)
TV Weber (CW Green)
NS Hoy (CW Green)
TJ Demeza (CW Blue)
12th Man: AAA Collins (CW Blue)

It's notable that should Dubb-Lynch not play, A Lezama will fill in for him. Dubb-Lynch has not yet confirmed availability.

The OD teams and the OD series layout will be revealed over the weekend.
Delighted to make that team!

Thrilled to be opening the batting along side my (usually) middle-order Red buddy, Dobson! Looks like an awesome side, batting right down to 10, where it abruptly stops. :p
Hang on a tick, what you saying?

ha ha .. ..

...as Nathan Patrick took on the role of keeper-batsman, making 63 runs from 207 balls in his first innings and then going on to catch Ian Markus and Jason Toogood
Lowest Average: Nath Patrick 18 1 50 7 7.14 0 2.8 3-7
those were the days! when I could bowl, bat AND keep! :D

i loved the charity series, looking forward to this one even more so!

Should both Cloete and Dubb-Lynch confirm availability before the 21st, then there will be now CW Green members in the 5D Batting XI, further highlighting that the bowlers won it for them this season!
Or rather the rookie all-rounders.

I think Hoy can be considered an all rounder, and definitely Cunningham. :-O

EDIT: Sorry, I saw that you meant that Hoy wasn't a rookie. :p

Would you consider Jason Gillespie an allrounder? I see me as a similar type player to him. My batting averages get push up by a heap of not outs....

I no that i wouldnt call dizzy an allrounder some people do.. and yes he hangs around but hes not like a shane watson or a jaques kallis...

As far as I know, we only had one rookie that was successful with both bat and ball. NJ Rose was a pure batsman, Weber was successful with ball but not with bat and Jennings and Armstrong are both specialists and joined very late in the season.

who keeps for the bowling team?
That's up to the captain of the Bowling XI. I'm sure any bowlers willing to do so can tell him to help him avoid a headache, though. :p

i guess i aint playing :(
Sure you are, just not in the Dev League XI (you can't as you're a contracted player, and no contracted players were selected) and not in the Batting of Bowling XI's for the 5D game. I'm very, very confident that you'll play in the Batting XI vs. Bowlig XI OD game and the OD series which will start off the charity games.
