Sami is over-rated... Aussies regard Gillespie as next Mcgrath, and similarly Pakistani's regard Sami as next Akhtar. Gillespie is actually very good, and no-one would rate him lower. Sami although despite some brilliant flashes, has struglled for consistency.

And as for Pathan, media might hv hyped him up, he still has a lot to prove for himself. 2 good series mean nothing, although he has the talent.

Frankly I don't know the criteria of rating a cricketer (over or under). But as I see in most websites and forums, it's almost always abt Shoaib, whereas sami is really good. As for gillespie, I feel is a great bowler and under-rated as compared to others

Well you didnt elaborate on your comment, Anyway you belive these players are over-rated ? Or they do not have the talent to be in test XI.. My explanation for picking then is that, although they are a constant member of their teams (Edwards is new, I realise) they r still not given as much credit as their illustrious peers.

For sure! Perhaps not in ODIs where I think he has done a good job, and I would rather see him in there then Bevan. However, I don't think it is fair on a chap of his age to dump him in the international arena with so little experience. He is proving in England how much more exposure to first class cricket he needs.

and why exactly is chris martin underrated?or for that matter virendar sehwag? and irfan pathan who apparently is a better fast bowler than harmison and is on some ppl's all time XI is underrated?

Because of comments like that, I think that he has the potential to score runs on bowler friendly wickets as he is a great batsman with a wide range of shots. He gets out to stupid shots, yes, but that problem can be fixed, allowing him to acheive his full potential and prove himself to "non beleivers"( ) like you.

agreed on kasper. The guy should have played upwards of 50 Tests to this day. Great bowler.

not so on giles and katich. Giles has never been that good and ever though stats don't tell the whole story, they say something and for Giles they really aren't great.
