Query: Doubles? Wouldn't mind playing a few doubles games, if that's possible?
In the Davis Cup, yes. In the near future, no. In the future - possibly.

I'd like to at least get through a season before even considering it. As it stands, the most time consuming thing to do is the draws - so maybe down the track.

Cheers mate. Won't make the Davis cup squad, but any chance in the future would be awesome.

It was a mixed qualifying period for CWLand as one player advanced and another fell at the final hurdle in an entertaining finals day. Jarko Maxum suffered a scare in the second round against Chilean Alex Rojas, but managed to prevail in three sets to set up a finals clash with fifth seeded Colombian Carlos Gonzà. Despite pushing Maxum to a tiebreaker in the first set, Gonzà didn't have the ability to put the set away as Maxum raced through it to claim the first set 7-6. The second set, however, was less close as Maxum sealed a spot in the Abierto Mexican Telcel tournament with a 7-6(2) 6-3 win.

It was disappointment for Alex de Wet who seemed to pull off a remarkable choke against South African seventh seed Matthew Oertel. de Wet was pushed to three sets in his first two matches, but looked to have it a lot easier against Oertel as he raced through the opening set in just 27 minutes as Oertel failed to win a game. But, up 3-0 in the second, Oertel suffered a dramatic breakdown as the South African stormed back into the contest to claim the second set 7-5. Whilst de Wet stuck with Oertel in the decider and sent it to a tiebreaker, he looked decidedly rattled from the turnaround and was knocked out in a surprising 0-6 7-5 7-6(1) loss.

Qualifiers: 1-Evgeny Volkoff (UKR); Jarko Maxum (CWL); 7-Matthew Oertel (RSA); 2-Gocha Berianidze (GEO)
Wildcards: Felipe Pelayo (MEX); Romel Solares (MEX); Guillermo Corona (MEX).

The sole CWLander attempting to qualify for the Delray Beach Championships, Sven Svensson, did so in an eventually taxing play-off final. The top seed was relatively untroubled throughout his qualifying matchups against Serbia's Viktor Bosich and Denmark's Jesper Overgaard, but found himself put to a much more thorough test in the final match against Leander Solent. The unseeded Indian pushed the CWLander to three long sets - despite dropping the opener he managed to even the match at one set each in a solid second set. But with the scores tied at 5-5 in the third, Solent dropped a crucial service game to allow Svensson the chance to close out the match - the CWLand national obliged to seal a 7-6(6) 4-6 7-5 win.

Qualifiers: 1-Sven Svensson (CWL); Yves Parmentier (BEL); Sebastian Moss (GBR); 5-Harpreet Gupte (IND)
Wildcards: Strongth Badlee (USA); Jimmy Holland (USA); Ryan Robinson (USA).

Top seed Sven Oxenstierna had little trouble advancing in his opening round clash against local wildcard Guillermo Corona in the pick of the first day performances in Acapulco. Oxenstierna took just under an hour to dispatch his thoroughly outmatched opponent in straight sets - using the match as almost a practice hit out for the inevitably tougher clashes in later rounds. Sealing the match with an ace, The Ox set up an important clash with Argentinian anomaly Emelio Cobos following a 6-2 6-2 triumph. Compatriot Jojo Mustard also impressed in his opening clash with a straight sets with over Chilean Rodrigo Varas. Despite the score line, Mustard faced a tough task in the opening set as the gritty Varas took it to a tiebreaker. But following a scratchy opener, Mustard was far too classy for his lower ranked opponent to seal a 7-6(5) 6-1 win. The other CWLander in the top half of the draw pulled off an impressive upset against fifth seed Patrick Pascaul of France. Randy Smeltz continued his surge up the rankings with a fighting display to come back from a set down to claim the contest in three. Pascaul looked far too good in the first set against Smeltz, but soon fell away as Smeltz lifted in confidence and advanced to the round of 16 with a 2-6 7-5 6-1 win. He will face Roman Dorogan of the Ukraine.

Whilst it was all happy endings in the top half for the CWLanders, sixth seed Jamee Hancianu bombed out in a shock straight sets loss to local wildcard Felipe Pelayo. Hancianu came into the match with a lot of swagger, but failed to back it up against an opponent who seemed buoyed by the home support. Hancianu dropped serve early, and his nerves suffered for it as Pelayo grew from strength-to-strength to seal an upset 6-4 6-4 win.

Seeds out: 4-Sergio Joaquin (ESP); 5-Patrick Pascaul (FRA); 6-Jamee Hancianu (CWL).

The entire CWLand contingent in Dubai has been eliminated as the enigmatic Heath Davis fell in three sets to Croatian Ivan Cesljar. With just nine spots separating the two players, it was an understandably close match as the pair traded sets. But where Davis, following a 6-1 second set thumping, should have taken all the momentum into the deciding set, he strangely went back into his shell and his normally fiery service suffered. A meek service game in the fifth of the set was enough to give Cesljar an unassailable lead - the world number 54 advancing 6-4 1-6 6-3.

Seeds out: 4-Rasmus Olesen (NOR).

Jam-packed with six CWLand players, Delray Beach was a hunting ground of mixed fortunes for the emerging nation as three were knocked out whilst three advanced. At the top of it all was a showdown between Roy Daniels and Rob Bowenburg, but it was ultimately the inexperienced Daniels who advanced in a confident straight sets display. Daniels managed to break service early against The Lob and, despite dropping service late into the set, did enough to surge ahead one-set to love. Bowenburg fought back valiantly in the second set and the straight sets margin ultimately reflected poorly on The Lob who impressively stayed with the tempramental Daniels. But after blowing three match points on his own service, Daniels sealed the win with a backhand winner - 6-4 7-5. In the other match in the top half of the draw for a CWLander, Billy Spleen proved too good for Uzbekistan's Anvar Juraev as he sealed a comfortable straight sets win. Spleen blew Juraev off the court in the first set 6-0, but faced a tougher task in the second. He would eventually set up a second round clash with Valter Cordiero of Portugal following a 6-0 7-5 win.

The bottom half of the draw was more disappointing for the CWLanders as Spas Delev and qualifier Sven Svensson both bombed out in their first matches. Svensson put up a good fight against Zbiginiew Boniek, but ultimately was outclassed by the Austrian despite taking the second set. Svensson's service faltered at the most inopportune moments, and he disappointingly was eliminated from the tournament as Boneika advanced 7-5 2-6 7-5. Smeltz would have liked to put up a better fight against wildcard Jimmy Holland, but it was not to be as the American prevailed in three sets. Smeltz was edged out in an opening set tiebreaker, but looked to have stormed back into control in the second set. But just as the match looked his for the taking, the local underdog managed to break his serve twice and seal a fantastic 7-6(7) 4-6 6-4. Third seed Jefferson Drake overcame a first set scare against Samuel Thorpe, but ultimately proved too good in a straight sets win. Claiming the first 7-5, Drake gained in confidence in the second to seal a 7-5 6-2 win. He will face Australian Harry Thompson.

Seeds out: 4-Morton Blundell (BAH); 8-Eric Henson (USA).

Top seeded CWLander Sven Oxenstierna continued his comfortable run to start the Abierto Mexicano Telcel tournament as he destroyed Argentina's Emelio Cobos. The 26-year old is known for his inconsistency, and it was possibly the darkest day of his career as he failed to take a game off the world number twelve. In just 47 minutes, Oxenstierna's explosive style helped him to an amazing 6-0 6-0 win which sounds out an ominous warning to eighth seed Dmitri Orlov who he faces in the quarterfinals. Elsewhere, Randy Smeltz proved too good for Ukraine's Roman Dorogan as he took a comfortable straight sets victory. Dorogan fought hard, but ultimately it was the cool and calm Smeltz who prevailed in straight sets - 6-4 6-1.

Seeds out: None.

It was a surprisingly dull day in Dubai as all eight contests amazingly were decided in straight sets. The only seeded player to fall was eighth seed Morgan Carter who lost 6-2 6-3 to impressive Brit Henry Charles.

In Delray Beach, just Jefferson Drake remains out of the CWLand contingent in an exciting day of tennis action. The third seeded Drake looked very comfortable in the first set against Harry Thompson of Australia and took the set in just half an hour. But the second set was much tougher for the explosive Drake - Thompson matching his big shots with fighting returns to send the set to a tiebreaker. Drake prevailed comfortably to set up a quarterfinal clash with unseeded Austrian Zbiginiew Boniek who upstaged sixth seed Pascal Schmidt in straight sets. On the other half of the draw, Roy Daniels and Billy Spleen saw their tournaments end. Daniels managed to take a set off seventh seed Jay Bradley, but ultimately was outclassed 6-3 6(5)-7 6-1. It was much closer between Spleen and Valter Cordiero, but the Portuguese 25-year old came from a set down to edge the contest 4-6 7-6(3) 6-4 to continue his impressive run.

Seeds out: 5-Hugh James (USA); 6-Pascal Schmidt (SUI).
