Cricketers who are really nice

Rahul Dravid & Adam Gilchrist are the first two names who sprang to my mind; both champion crickets and crashingly good chaps to boot. Tough and even fearsome opponents, but never lost perspective and played the game as it should be played.

Commentators always say how everyone likes Morne Morkel because he is really nice. I remember him making tea for the ground staff at Johannesburg when the 5th day of the Australia test was delayed by rain last year.

Always thought Gilly was and is a top bloke. Could absolutely marmalize a team but if he knew he'd nicked a ball that was it, he would walk. A credit to the game.

Hashim, no doubt.

From what I am told from friends who play club cricket that bowled to NZ in the nets when they were down here, the whole team is incredibly friendly.

Bradman was a popular and well liked character, especially with the Micks.

Glenn McGrath is a nice guy. Bit of a white line fever merchant as a player, but a great guy off the field.

Had a beer with Damian Fleming once, helluva decent bloke.

Met Martin Love once when we were on a school camp tour of the MCG. Was really happy to chat to the kids for ages and get photos taken etc.

Yeah so was Jardine with Australians on the 'hill' specially

Seriously, I would add to Gilly and Dravid already mentioned by adding another Indian - Jimmy Amarnath.

Yeah, Fleming is a ripper.
I'm probably a similar type of bowler to Fleming, only much much ****ter!

He was happy as to talk about swing bowling for ages, particularly about bowling inswingers, which I always struggle with. Good tips on slight changes to my action etc etc.

Champion bloke.

Gilly always struck me as the type who would dob in a neighbour for breaching water restrictions or some such. As above - self-righteous, pontificating, pompous guy with a real superiority complex.

Really don't know how you could justify this opinion tbh.
