Do you know what a 'classical' union actually does? Exactly what Blewy, or whoever, did for you when you got banned. Say someone got banned who doesn't have a close-knit 'clique' on CW, then what happens? The ban stands even to the detriment of the site.
Same goes for posters who don't know James or don't feel comfortable talking to him, and obviously misunderstandings like the recent thread closure.

Muttmark - caters for the non-coterie entrenched.

It sounds like a good idea, it'd be nice to be able to discuss such issues with other forum members.

We should start taking nominations.
I'll throw my name in the hat if that's how we're going to do it. I can't expect anyone other than Bench would be voted in, but I can argue a case and I'm not aligned particularly with any individuals and/or coteries.

IMO we should have 10 or so names listed and the top 3 vote getters would form the commitee running the union.

It was explained pretty clearly at the start of this thread I think, but as I see it it's a way for non-staff members to liaise with the CW crew, to make sure that any issues posters have that need a collective voice are brought up with the fuzz.

Rather than being a way of curtailing the power mods have over us, it would be a good way to work together, giving both the posters a clear representative voice i.e. a person who acts under direction of the union, and it gives the mods a clear go-to person/team when dealing with general CW issues.
