Could just feed him Shane Warne I guess…You probably need Munaf Patel playing for Sachin to still look like Sachin, tbf. If Sachin had to face 25yos it'd probably be sad.
True but I think you’ll always get these mixed “legends” teams now - everyone won’t be a former superstar since no way their schedules will all align seeing as they no longer play professionally. So you’ll get like 3-4 actual legends and the rest a “why?” kind of player.I think that's a lot different - I could go to watch actual legends until the day they kick the bucket. Same as I could always watch Jack Nicklaus, Arnie, Gary Player etc well into their 70s.
When the 'legends' are the calibre of Munaf Patel, it gets different

oh look brett lee has finally learnt to swing the ball
Munaf is a terrible example. The guy has maintained a good level of fitness after retirement and has bowled really well in these kind of tourneys. He might not be a legend, but you'll find it tough to make 3-4 teams full of legends. Guys like Munaf, Kulasekera, etc. add a lot of value to these kind of games.I think that's a lot different - I could go to watch actual legends until the day they kick the bucket. I mean, it's not a terrible example. He's actually a perfect example of what I mean. No offense to Munaf Patel, but I didn't get excited about watching him during his career, let alone 10 years after it.Munaf is a terrible example. Of course, hence we have more popular guys in the promotional material and not Munaf, Kula, etc.I mean, it's not a terrible example. He's actually a perfect example of what I mean. No offense to Munaf Patel, but I didn't get excited about watching him during his career, let alone 10 years after it.
I think the point is that there never really will be a League of legends where every team has 11 legends. Its more like there are some legends playing in the league but you need the others to sorta fill out the teams.I mean, it's not a terrible example. He's actually a perfect example of what I mean. Yes, and you want those others to be good enough.I think the point is that there never really will be a League of legends where every team has 11 legends. Its more like there are some legends playing in the league but you need the others to sorta fill out the teams.
I had followed this, but it was more or less unwatchable tbh.Yeah...I guess my point is that it just feels a bit **** where Legends cricket is concerned.
Incidentally, there was a Beach cricket series in the mid 2000s which was epic. Or at least I thought it was. It had a full stack of legends from Australia, NZ and England. It was pretty Mickey Mouse in terms of the size of the ground and the format, but it worked because the names were big.
