Cricket Coach Thread

when i had a rain delay it said that the players had been off for 64 minutes,
and then that 2 overs had been lost?

Has anyone ever had a run out? This really needs to be sorted
The batsmen don't begin to run until the ball is just about to hit the stumps! weird

Also, when a player is out with the last ball before lunch, the fielding players all form a huddle, then zoom off the pitch, wait a second, then all come back on again:laugh:

Hak i did. Thats why i said "after searchin i found out i needed the latest directx. I did that but now when i run i get an error msg".

I found out it could be sumthnig to do with.NET Framework. Could that effect it?

P.S is there a requirement for a Graphics Card?
Are you sure you installed DirectX correctly? Installing DirectX 9.0 should fix the problem.

With regard to the requirements for a graphics card, the system requirements are listed below.

OS: Windows 98se/ME/2000/XP/x64
CPU Type and Speed: Pentium III 800Mhz or equivalent
Memory: 256mb
Hard Drive Space: 35mb
Graphics: 100% DirectX 9.0c compatible 32mb Direct 3D card
Audio: 100% DirectX 9.0c compatible Sound Card.

hav u got any idea how long this bug fixing will take and a new version released? I like this game and think that with a few amendments will be a great cricket mangement sim. To make it great though it must be spring cleaned of bugs and errors!

Yes i did install DirectX9 although during installation it said error .net framework needs to be updated etc before installing so i clicked okay and then it continued installing so i didnt bother with the .net framework.

As for graphics i have an onboard 4mb and thats it, dont have any graphics cards in the comp. Should i try the .net framwork or not bother without a 3d card?

I'm sorry but I don't think the game will work with just 4mb ram in your onboard card. You need a card with at least 32MB Ram.

We're talking hours not days.

I've not got any other projects planned for the next few months, so I'm here pretty much daily to fix bugs and add new user requested features to the game. With a game this size it's impossible to be absolutely certain everything is working okay, all I can do is say we'll do our best to fix anything that's found.

Sounds great. As I said above, I actually enjoyed the game before the crashes.
The brilliance of patches :p
We like to call them updates:)

As they'll (in due course) add new user requested features as well as clear bugs.

Yes the comical end of session sequence made it into a release version. We thought some light entertainment after a tense session was vital. :)

The rain issue you mention isn't a bug, overs aren't lost in the game until the players have been off the field for over an hour. For up to an hour's break the players will play on after the close to make the overs up.

thanks for clearing that up!

What about the dodgy contract system, the weird follow on scores, the un-realism, fielders diving over the ball, the lack of 2nd team, training (some of them need it eg.Craig white (why no bowling action given RF) has a terrible no ball problem, about 3 times every 2 overs) and no staff. Can these problems be fixed or added Oli?

Thanks for the help about the graphics card. I installed everythnig that was needed(latest directx and latest .net framework) and it still didnt work, so its to do with the lack or graphics card, which u said.

Owell ive got a 256 card infront of me i cant use it though cause its AGP and my lil tiny desktop is PCI. I cant even put a new motherboard in there cause like i said its a Compaq deskpro series, and its to small. Looks like i need a new box, and new set up before i can play games.

And what of the maths error, when a team batting 3rd, if behind, actually adds to the deficit!

Cheers, you've got a good game here, but it's not ready yet, and I hope to see a top class game soon.

Yes...I have known people have run outs on the released version.

Maybe someone's contact lenses had fallen out and they had to go and look for them!

Craig White no longer bowls due to his back injury.

Whoops! But i get so frustrated with him constantly no balls, i want to send craig (live only just down road from him) to a bowling coach, but i haven't got the option. On the game he is 100 % fit and should be able to bowl, unlike in real life!

Does that mean today then Oli ???

could anyone tell me what kind of new features are planned by Glenn and Oli
I reckon for now it'll be a fixing broken or faulty features update, and later will come new features.

For me one of the biggest things is the "hotlinking" where clicking on a player to see there stats and then clicking back re-sets everything. Hopefully this can be addressed so that you can move around the game conveniently, as I tend to constantly click on things to ge the thinking process going i.e choosing which batsmen to select for the next game, lets have a look at the statistics, now I know that the oppisiton have 2 quality spinners, but lack a genuine quality fast bowler, so lets see which player is more suited to facing this type of bowling etc:)
