To be honest though, if the actual discussion regarding whether India is racist or not doesn't get offenseive (or ironically, racist), then there's no reason for a moderator to step in, unless its extremely off-topic. Then they just request that a new thread is made, or that they go back to the topic at hand. People have the right to argue a stupid point of view. If someone wants to make a post claiming that Andrew Symonds is a better test cricketer than Sachin Tendulkar, then they can. Just as if someone wants to argue that Twenty20/ODI cricket is a better and more accurate exponent of cricket skills than test cricket, and should be the real game, they can. No matter how dumb it sounds.

Too much regulation will ruin CW.

And people saying there's more trolls now than ever, I guarantee you if you go back to 2004 and 2005 and read the Ind/Pak tour threads, you'll lose a lot of faith in humanity. Almost as bad as reading user comments on Youtube videos.

Just also like to say that the best way for the trolls to leave is to hope that what they want doesn't happen, or what they reckon won't happen, does happen.

The minute India won the Perth test, that jackass Evermind disappeared like he was wanted for smuggling drugs into Indonesia. Same was with the Pakistani trolls in 2004 when India beat Pak, and the Indian trolls in 2005 when Pakistan drew the tests and won the ODIs.

Obviously tough when there are trolls on both sides though. Maybe hope for a tour boycott then

Did people really think along the lines of "I'm going to try for an award with this post." The best posts are spontaneous with the awards just an amusing aside.

Of course no one will admit to it. But imo, that was the onus for some of the longer, and oftentimes more well thought out posts on Cricket Chat.

Top Cat, Faaip, Jono, Nnanden, Vic O, Burgey, Slow Love, Perm, Clapo, DCE, etc.

I guess it's the quality of the cricket, more than anything, that brings the heavy duty posters back.

Agreed with the too much regulation.

IMO CW is, at times, a little too strictly moderated and sanitized.
