Cricket All-Stars 2015 - Sachin's Blasters vs Warne's Warriors

Kind of an indictment on fast bowling in the 2000s that all the top batsmen were playing 1-5 years ago but they had to pull up Ambrose, Walsh, Wasim and Donald from 15 years ago to get the same star power.
McGrath, Lee, Ntini, Bond would all have star power. Shoaib was 2000s too.

All of them retired way before Sanga/Sehwag/Ponting. Bar McGrath (who's a product of the 90s anyway), none of those 2000s bowlers match are at the batsmen's level.

Yeah think about our '2nd best batsman ever' knockout thing. Tendulkar, Sehwag, Sangakkara, Ponting and Kallis were all in the running. But in the bowling one only Shoiab (plus McGrath, who doesn't really count) is sticking up for the 2000s. It was a batting decade

Murali too, and Steyn

Plays fewer Tests than most of his peers and much fewer ODIs which should help him extent his career into at least his mid 30s

International Captain
Lee would have been great for this though. Without Shoaib it really would have been a pensioner's battle. Needs a couple of guys who can crank the heat up. Even Tait would have been a good addition. Not the class of most of the others of course, but a World Cup winner.

Always loved Vaughan, I always wonder if becoming captain was why his batting dropped.
