ok, can someone jsut answer this simple question (for people who have both games)-

which is better/more fun in gameplay, especially for a novice cricket fan.

which one has better detailed, stats as in season mode, and franchise mode (for teams, who cares about individual players).

thanks!
EA Sports Cricket 2005,easily.

Which question are you answering? As Zim says BLIC is much better/more fun for gameplay. Anyone who wanted an intro to cricket would be crazy to buy C2k5.

Back to the topic of the two games, I think BLIC 2005 could be a great game but it needs to be polished up. The game runs way too fast, camera moves too fast, replays are always the same, stadiums and players don't look very realistic. The gameplay however has a good solid feel with realistic movements and the bowling is really fun. EA have got the graphics and realism sorted but their gameplay feels stuttery and it's very hard to bat. I'm disappointed that both games have not come up to scratch. The perfect game would be BLIC's game engine and controls with EA's presentation, stats and graphics. Oh and autoplay should always be an option!
surely you are contradicting yourself there.

My analysis
Gameplay:
Movements - BLIC 7/10, EA05 7/10
Shots - BLIC 5/10, EA05 6/10
Ideas - BLIC 8/10, EA05 5/10
Realism - BLIC 3/10, EA05 8/10
GAMPLAY TOTAL: BLIC - 23/40, EA05 - 26/40

Functions:
In-game Functions - BLIC 6/10, EA05 7/10
Player Editing/Creation - BLIC 5/10, EA05 6/10
Other Functions - BLIC 8/10, EA05 6/10
Ideas (things that are good and can be improved in future games) - BLIC 8/10, EA05 6/10
FUNCTIONS TOTAL - BLIC - 27/40, EA05 - 25/40

Graphics:
Realism - BLIC 4/10, EA05 6/10
Smoothness - BLIC 7/10, EA05 7/10
Game Physics - BLIC 5/10 (loses points due to slow bowling), EA05 7/10
GRAPHICS TOTAL - BLIC 16/30, EA05 20/30

TOTAL RATING - BLIC - 66/110, EA05 - 71/110

Notes: BLIC too "arcade-like", not realistic, too simple. Good ideas to build on in future games. A good place for codemasters to start but not what I expected and I hope the next game is much better. It has good features i.e. hawkeye, career mode, but lacks important ones i.e. manual replay, autoplay.

EA05 Only worries are the frustration of batting that sets in from time to time (usually in one-day matches), occasional graphical bug (nothing huge like after autoplay if batsman scores 50, first ball after it the 50 is aknowledged) and the actions of the fast bowlers inparticular. Across all other areas I feel this is a very good game and EA for once have NOT disappointed me.

I've only played BLIC 4 times since I got it and I really just find it's not what I was looking for.

That's my opinion, you will have yours, and everyone will probably be looking for something different in a cricket game but for mine EA Cricket 2005 is the way to go.

I bought Cricket 2005 today , and was disspointed when I played it. I thought it was very slow , and quite difficult to play in my opinion. The option to choose English county teams I like , and the guy in the nets telling you where you were bowling , good/bad. Maybe I just need more time to settle into the game , but at this moment in time I would give it 6/10 and Brian Lara , 8/10.

i would say that is well paced, the most realistically paced game out there atm, blic is stupidly fast and you can finish an over in about a 40 seconds.
