County Cricket 2022

Liam Patterson-White in the wickets again. Good to see wickets fall to spin at any time but especially in April.

Marnus sick and tired of being shaheen's bunny decides to snick him off bowling med's to get revenge.

Is Jordan Thompson under 88mph, if so the fact he's got an incredible f-c record is pointless as England won't pick him.

It's been a while since Burns, Pope, Foakes and Sam Curran all played for Surrey; not since the start of the 2018 season at a guess. Banton's catch to end a typically fluent Pope innings is worth watching.

Shaheen Shah Afridi is just an incredible cricketer and so very likeable! Has all the attributes to be one of the ATG's. What a coup for Middlesex!

He hits a clean ball as well. Won't be surprised to seeing him being a capable lower-order batsman long-term

I thought I might see Sam Curran reach his maiden FC hundred this morning, but not to be. Siddle bowling very well again, and Somerset look like securing a decent first innings lead. Crap shot by Curran though. Having reached 80, he should have done much better with the ball that removed him. Anyway, C. Overton about to bowl to J. Overton.

Ben Foakes has suffered an unusual injury; colliding with first slip when diving to catch Tom Banton. He's been taken off with concussion and/or a neck injury.

The man can't get more unlucky. Slipped on his socks and missed the entirety of last summer.

Good match at The Oval. Somerset leading by 225 with 1 wicket left may not sound a lot, but the wicket has enough for bowlers who get it right, and Siddle and Overton are both in very good form. Plus you'd expect Leach to feature on Day 4. All of which means that Brooks and Davey will probably take all ten tomorrow. Surrey's top 6 looks good, but we don't know how Foakes is.

Glad Northants escaped with a draw, but we won't win many unless we can get runs in the first innings. Harry Brook looks a good player, must be in the reckoning for an England call-up you'd think.
