Congratulations to all Indian Team Supporters

Congratulations to India, they were the best team in the tournament and deserved to win.....even if it took an almighty choke to get there. The difference was largely Bumrah, who is the best white ball bowler in world cricket.

However, by being the best team, they didn't need the extra help along the way afforded to them by the ICC. No future World Cup should ever be set up for the TV audience in one country, no semi final should be pre-arranged, and match times should be totally dependent on when the most number of local fans can attend.

Guys imagine if we had lost this final? How would we have coped? Imagining this sends chills down my spine.

Edit: too many typos in that one post.

I felt a bit like that after 2019. Knew it was our best chance to win the 50 over World Cup and that opportunities like this don't come along very often. It's not that we choke, we actually have an ok record in knockout games, we just don't often make the knockouts!!

Question: Out of all of India’s tournament wins, in terms of how poignant they were, where does this rank?
The thing about this win was that it’s not special in isolation. It’s T20s, every two years, and by Rohit’s own admission it’s not the real World Cup.

Losing all the other stuff, in particular the 2023 WC has just kept compounding the misery, but it’s also what made winning this come as a huge relief. It’s lifted a massive burden. That’s why you saw players kneeling over and crying etc. The Pandya arc is also amazing, for someone to be the subject of that much abuse just months ago to redeeming himself now is brilliant.

Honestly I think I’m probably happier for Rohit and co finally winning a cup than the actual win itself if that makes any sense.

It’s very hard to rate, kinda like Kohli’s innings.

So going by your last line, valuable, but not the best. I’d agree with that

Whatever it takes!!!
I think RSA were well on their way to being very deserving winners and we were lucky to have won in the end, even allowing for how well our pacers bowled and how well we fielded. Very unfortunate to not be world champions right now, but hopefully their time will come in the future.

Such a great WC. 55 games, 20 teams, so many upsets, pitches that kept the lower ranked sides in the games, variety of conditions and pitches that helped seamers, spinners and batters. I dont feel it really makes up for last year or the 50 over WC but in some ways, this feels like a more complete and rounded triumph. So proud of our boys.

And best of all, I was in a flight watching streaming with wifi and the applause after we won was just 😍. A very memorable moment.
