I think RSA were well on their way to being very deserving winners and we were lucky to have won in the end, even allowing for how well our pacers bowled and how well we fielded. Very unfortunate to not be world champions right now, but hopefully their time will come in the future.

Such a great WC. 55 games, 20 teams, so many upsets, pitches that kept the lower ranked sides in the games, variety of conditions and pitches that helped seamers, spinners and batters. I dont feel it really makes up for last year or the 50 over WC but in some ways, this feels like a more complete and rounded triumph. So proud of our boys.

And best of all, I was in a flight watching streaming with wifi and the applause after we won was just . A very memorable moment.

I was in my MBA hostel. We were so dejected after the 24 run over but still amazingly pumped when Bumrah was bowling. Everyone was thumping the table at all of his bowls. When Miller’s shot went in the air and the SKY catch happened, I can almost remember it in mind as it happened in real time. Just amazing. And then all of the players crying. Such wholesome celebrations. I’m not a guy who smiles often, but can’t wipe this grin off my face right now
