Congratulations Chris Cairns

Tim

Cricketer Of The Year
He becomes the 6th player in history to take 200 test wickets & score 3000 test runs.

He is also the 2nd New Zealander to join the list along side Sir Richard Hadlee.

Hes done very well.. Congrats...

When Chris Cairns bowls to Shaun Pollock, its one legends son bowling to another legends son...

Yet both have gone on to do better than their fathers.

Congrats to Chris Cairns.
Jaques Kallis needs another 39 wickets & Shaun Pollock another 122 runs to join the club.

well done Cairns - now that he has that monkey off his back here's hoping that his bowling will start to come good...........

no Aussies or South Africans on that list yet....................

Chris Cairns has done amazingly well considering how much time off he has had due to injury. A magnificent effort from a superb allrounder.

If it werent for injury I would say he would of have had or close to 300 Test wickets by now.

Congratulations Chris.

I predict either Warne or Watson will be the first Australia to that landmark , Warne needs another 700 odd runs which isnt out of the question.

taht shows that australia has enver really had a good all-rounder... ever

Well played, Chris.

It shows that having a bowler whose batting is of top 6 quality helps a lot. A genuine all-rounder can change the course of many a match. A team with an all-rounder is a team in good shape. May he carry on the good form.

Only those who saw him can say which Pollock was better - I believe his Dad was a mighty fine bowler - LE?

Watson no - needs to be establishing himself now - he isn't good enough yet to afford to loose too many more years.........

Warne - maybe but will need some good innings since his opportunities with the bat will be somewhat limited by the strength of their batting lineup........

Kallis requires 39 more wickets & I'd say it's almost the same story for him - I can't see his bowling getting him there..............

Pollock probably has the best chance if he can stay free from injury over the next couple of years (and regain some form with the bat).............

yep and Cairns was already an establishing himself in International cricket................

Watson is still young granted, but he is not a world beater by any streatch of the imagination - if he is going to have any chance at getting near the record he is looking at the best part of a decade of international TEST cricket to do so................very few Aussie seam bowlers have that sort of longevity

why else do you think that Cairns is only the 6th player do make the grade????????

:)

With the greatest of respect, he did have it slightly easier to break into the side than Watson does! ;)

I heard some stat that said Cairns had only played 50% of NZs test since his debut. Had he not been troubled by injury at all, he may well be closing in on Hadlee...

Well Done Champion!!!
