Congrats ST...At last !

Seems like it was a tad slow though considering Bang went on to win, am I right?

Well done, but it's a record about longevity more than anything - doesn't really give us a great insight into where he sits historically.

Fact is though that his country lost the match, do you'd have to imagine its a empty feeling.

Really, the milestone that did deserve a bit more hype was 50 Test hundreds, moreso than this IMO.

I think the fact that we lost to SA by an innings overshadowed the 50th 100. I swear every major Sachin milestone results in an Indian loss :p

The sense I’m getting is that because the fans/media have put him on such a high pedestal and overblown everything he does (which is no fault of his own of course), some will do the reverse and underplay his achievements. So basically there is no difference between the two groups then? They are two opposing ends of the same spectrum.
That's true. Tendulkar has his nutjob critics as well, and in india too. In last world cup when he scored a couple of fantastic hundreds and India didn't win, there were Facebook comments on how when he scores India loses. That criticism made me mad because those were great knocks.

On the other hand what happened in the last match is depressing. We had to deal with an embarrassing defeat, part of blame for which should go to the poor batting by Tendulkar. Yet on TV they are doing features on "is Tendulkar better than Bradman". This so ****ed up.

When they say it because he scored an ODI hundred against Bangladesh at 75 in a losing cause it's ****ing absurd.

That's the saddest thing about the hype - the actual effect on his status as a player from yesterday to today is minimal. It just demans everything about him and reduces him to mere substanceless, superficial hyperbole when the media and fans go full herp-derp like this.

The innings could have been slightly quicker but the pitch was slow in the first half and everyone except Raina was struggling to time it, but with dew quickened up in the second. The bowling was **** too.

He plays anchor more these days in his second avatar compared to his first one.

Congrats on the Milestone by SRT, still dont think that its right to mix the formats when discussing statistics but it is a testament to his longevity and ability.

What he has achieved is truly monumental but for anyone place him on par with or heaven forbid above the Don is the epitome of cricketing ignorance and a gross disrespect for the history of the game.

So it's like every other week

That is quite an achievement for cricket, especially since its mid-March.

Anyway, well done Sachin. Time to go on a scoring spree.
Is ESPN that bad in the US, that a singular milestone in a non-US sport getting a single link is considered a big deal?
