AWTA, but in saying that, it's no surprise as the ABC team is almost always excellent.Yeah liked Neil Johnson on Grandstand. Fanie dV was also good the previous day.
Coney, one of the greats. What's he doing now?Michael Holding is gun, and I love Bob Willis for the rants.
Bring back Jeremy Coney.
AWTA, McGrath most certainly didn't run in hard all day with the heart of a Lion. PreposterousOne of the blokes doing the SA/Aus match just compared Siddle to McGrath.
Burn him at the stake I say.
I believe he is 'semi-retired' these days. Only did the tests last summer here iirc.I haven't heard Bill Lawry in a while. Is he on the commentary team for the SA/AUS series?
The man is just epic.
Mark Taylor is my favorite Aussie commentator atmI believe he is 'semi-retired' these days. Only did the tests last summer here iirc.
Shane Warne is probably my favourite of the aussie commentators.
AWTA! And Bhogle was good, at least the most erudite of them all; seems to have lost it a bit of late though.I think Saurav Ganguly and Sanjay Manjrekar are the better ones from India. Gavaskar (apart from his Sachin worship and Aussie bashing at times) used to be good and so was Shastri to an extent, but right now they are just paid cronies for the BCCI.
Bhogle talks far too much.AWTA! And Bhogle was good, at least the most erudite of them all; seems to have lost it a bit of late though.
Reckon Manjrekar is a joke. Talks to the viewers like 3 year olds but at the same time tries to be far too analytical and ends up finding problems or attempting to come up with talking points that simply aren't there. He is a pest who carries on like some sort of absolute guru of the game.
Ranjit Fernando and Robin Jackman should be pensioned off, and Mike Haysman is a clown.
Really like what I've heard from Andrew Symonds - not one I would have predicted.
I'd still have preferred Sky to have nabbed Ganguly.Nah, I like Manjrekar. Safe pair of hands. Wasn't out of place in Sky's team for the Indian tour up here. Wasn't afraid to knock India or the BCCI, which some formerly decent Indian comms (Gavaskar, Shastri...) are loath to do.
Gilchrist has been **** on whenever I've caught him too. Clever bloke, a cricketing nerd & no obvious personal axes to grind, which makes for a good starting point.
