this two hold a unique record in test cricket even though its not a world record (as three other pair have matched them or bettered them)
their achivement has a uniquness name the players and the record??
clues will follow if needed

Do you want to make the question a bit more ambiguous?!

How can it be unique if 4 pairs have done it?

y can't it be unique say 4 plyers has done some thing and 3 are left handed and the other is right handed then his achivement is unique isn't it???

Yes, and in that case the other 3 haven't done it.

Unique is 1-off, not 4 people have done this thing.

Also, can we make the questions a little less ambiguous. With open ended questions, you can always come up with multiple possibilities and you'll never know you are right till the QM tells it himself (the extreme example of this was the question about instances in ODIs about teams with 2 individual hundreds and a 50).

i think with google around a straight forward question will be answered with in minutes.but still as i find no one is trying to find answers other than Richard Jenkins i think i will ask the question straight forward :@

It's still ambiguous.

"this two hold a unique record in test cricket even though its not a world record (as three other pair have matched them or bettered them)
their achivement has a uniquness name the players and the record??
clues will follow if needed" can mean just about anything.

The question needs to be phrased in such a way that the answer is not a complete stab in the dark.

I guess the question is something like this now : Among the four pairs of batsmen who have made most 200+ stands in test cricket, one pair is composed of middle order batsmen. Which is this pair ?

Still don't know what country this pair of non opening batsmen/batswoman who scored most 200+ runs played for and please could you give me a continent if a country is too obvious; Sorry if I was ambigous.

u r guess could be wrong if the pair is one opening batsmen and one middle order batsmen even though in this case u r guess is correct

the other three pairs are
Langer and Hayden with 6 200+
Gooch and artherton & Haynes and greenidge 4 200+

one more pair(not openers) has 4 200+ partnership in test and they are from sub continent

I'll ask a question assuming that Ganguly/Tendulkar was the expected answer. Another one from the name series. Shouldn't be difficult :

Which West Indian cricketer of recent times was named after the Russian premier, American president and the US secretary of defence (from c.1970) ?
