X was a double international for his country (Rugby and Cricket). He was involved in 2 controversial incidents in the last minutes of a game in both sports. While he helped his country win in the rugby match, he couldnt do the same in the cricket match. Who's X?

Brian McKechnie of NZ was on the receiving end of Trevor Chappell's underarm grubber that he needed to hit for 6 to win an ODI. I think he also played international rugby, but I couldn't tell you about the controversial incident in RU.

Correct!! (That was 6 to tie the match). The rugby incident was a controversial penalty awarded in the last minutes of a NZ-Wales test in '78

Your turn.

I somehow feel that you are referring to the two 300 stands RSD and VVSL have against Australia though only two other pairs - Gibbs/Smith, Bradman/Ponsford - have 'bettered or equalled them'

I was wondering, should this thread be 'stickyed' given the popularity of this thread?

A bit like DD Diary.
