Well done SJS. That is the record. That is the lowest batting position from where a Century has been scored in ODIs. It is difficult to see a number 8 scoring a century in ODIs let alone a number 9,10,11.
Well for the last 2 ODI's, England's top scorer has been the number 9 batsman!

Yes Marc but Its a bit easier for the number 9 to be the top scorer when it takes less than 30 runs to be one :p

Kiddding :)

Plunkett needed to get 50 to do it though! ;)

Mind you with supersub batsmen in consecutive games coming in at 9 and 10, you've got to question England's application of the rule.

Bradman may have felt Tendulkar was closer to him in style than anyone else but Inzemam can claim to be closer to Bradman than anyone else but for one other batsman ?

What is the claim and who is the other batsman ?

Proportion of centuries coming in winning causes? Dont know who the batsman in the middle would be. Could be G.Vishwanath though.

Actually Inzy is second only to Bradman for this record:

Inzamam also has a great sense of timing, and not just with his square drives. He performs when it matters most, and he makes his performances count. Seventeen of Inzi's 24 centuries have been in a winning cause, a proportion second only to Bradman.

Some more good stuff on Inzy in this article here : http://content.cricinfo.com/pakveng/content/story/227473.html

But obviously you have some different record in mind we would have to work out.

Average in victories?

A few months ago Inzamam was 4th on that list behind Bradman, Dravid and Sobers.

Also interesting to note is that a few months ago Inzamam was below S.R.Waugh in proprtion of matches won when hitting centuries tied with Hayden and M.Waugh. He was actually no. 2 till very recently for that record as I pointed out earlier.

Stats from a few months ago - http://content.cricinfo.com/ci/content/story/146421.html

Sudeep

International Captain
Could be highest Test averages as captain. Sir Don is 101.something, and Inzy 62.something. Not sure who will be in the middle though.
