Building a 'Peak XI'

Ponting mostly had big series vs mediocre bowlings and batting friendly pitches..... Imo, not just scoring big runs but tough runs are more important. Also failed hugely in his toughest tour in India at the middle of his peak, averaging 3.
I consider Pontings peak to be from 2002-2006 where he only played one game in India. Smith was definitely better against spin though while Ponting was better against pace and bounce.
