I think his talking more about the money he could be getting in t20 leagues which he kind of does already instead of playing some meaningless short form series before icc tournaments
As I said in the Eng /NZ thread, Young could be forgiven for feeling aggrieved if it is a straight swap with Ravindra at the top when KW is fit but I still believe it's the right call, & I wouldn't shuffle Young down the order at the cost of Chapman (or Neesham) at 7 either because to pull out the old 2015 WC card, we'd have enough cake with the bat as it is with Conway, Ravindra, KW, Mitchell & Latham to then have the icing with the likes of Phillips at 6 & Chapman (maybe Neesh) at 7. If Young isn't opening there's no room elsewhere.I'd go both and drop Chapman to be brutal. I mean he is a clean striker but I feel like Chapman is a top 4 player to get the most out of him.
That's actually a pretty reasonable position to take imo
Is he wrong? No he's not because it's his honest opinion, and usually I welcome that in sportspeople. I'm not thrilled with it, however, in a guy who has done nothing in 4 years to be a part of this squad. As I'm probably known for, I can get (too) emotional about representing our country and players who want to have cake + eat it with T20 leagues. I don't want to hear about context when you have 38 teams on your cricinfo profile, including the Mississauga Panthers. But is he wrong?
We could crap on about playing for your country and heart on your sleeve stuff but to me this just fuels my suspicion we need less T20Is apart from a world cup and more ODIs, but how do you put something at stake in those series?
Latham's far too valuable as a middle overs player of spin in India IMO, and Conway's keeping would cost runs too. This won't happen , but this is the perfect solution imo
Latham has been flop since long time with the bat and is struggling too
Just give the gloves to Conway, though latham is a better keeper
And have both young and rachin in the playing 11
Rachin will be good at 4 too
Yeah my rather obnoxious response in the other thread is mainly around Conway keeping. It's a big load for him, he'll make mistakes and it did hurt us back at the T20 World Cup.This won't happen , but this is the perfect solution imo

True about the keeping, but I am still doubting his ability rn to play spin , he was getting out like a rookie in previous seriesYeah my rather obnoxious response in the other thread is mainly around Conway keeping. Latham maybe less essential with the bat when we're playing on roads, but on a pitch like Aus vs India last night we really want Latham in our middle order too.
Since I didn't trust Conway's keeping in the World T20 on Australian pitches, I definitely wouldn't trust it in ODIs in India. This won't happen , but this is the perfect solution imo

Latham at 7 will be too low. Latham-Mitchell-Philips for me. Kane and Latham at 4 and 5 can be the cake.Mitchell -> Phillips -> Latham imo, or use Phillips as a floater.
