The more I watch the BBL, the more I think it could eventually usurp the IPL as the biggest T20 tournament. The aussies put on a bit of a different show, they're competitive but there's much more of an emphasis on friendships and accessibility in the whole production - and it's creating a playing culture that you can see the international boys in particular are absolutely loving. You can really feel it in every game, it's just a bloody fun time. It's better cricket too. Better playing conditions, the lot. Can see a lot more international players wanting to get involved.

Average crowd this year is over 23,000, same as the IPL. CA is doing a tremendous job.

BBL will never have a stand alone window + will always clash with the domestic/international seasons of other countries, notably India and South Africa, so those are pretty big barriers. It'll never be bigger. Clearly though CA have done a very good job with it. Just need to get C10 to show the damn matches live everywhere
