People seem to think that because McGrath is 80 to 85mph bowler and not up in the 90's that he isnt a great pacer.....
I don't think McGrath is underrated. Most people agree that he has been the best pace bowler of the last half dozen years and some even go so far to say that he is Australia's best fast bowler ever. Have you ever heard anyone say Lee is better than McGrath (even though Lee does get into the 90s on a regular basis)?

well no-one in the game for that last 15 years has been as accurate (or indeed as successful) as Mcgrath in the pace bowling category.
Ambrose?

success was a side issue, hence the brackets the main point was the accuracy...as if it really matters anyway...coz really Mcgrath probably has been the most successful pace bowler of the last 15 years

I dont see any reason to include 2 wicket keepers in Stewart and Russell. Stewart is more than enough. If you believe Russel to be a better keeper, then you should probably pick a better batsman or atleast a spinner for a variety.

Stewart solely as a batsman is IMO good enough though.

the balance of the side strikes me as being a bit off.....kirsten should be opening the batting and cullinan should bat at 3 or 4.

I think Kirsten would be more suited to a change in position than the openers..

Tempted by DeVilliers, good point, and he bowls well with Donald... But I think Ntini provides a bit more variation, stops the pace attack being to samey with his angle of attack and added bounce..

Hayden?
Oh no we were only talking about 'elite' batsmen, where even Zaheer Abbas and Inzamam don't qualify, so how can Waugh and Ponting? Hayden isn't in this league, very good not great.

I hope you're aware of the context of that post. If yes, then Inzi is a great too, Zaheer Abbas is up there too, which coupled with their superior bowling makes the Pak 11 the best.

Nobody is saying he wasn't our best keeper. But nobody thinks he should be in the team anymore. His time is over, shed a few tears(well flood the house if you like), and let it go, he won't make it into the team again.

I think More was better than him. Mongia was good with the spinners but he doesn't dive around a lot, which is a must when you are keeping to good swing bowlers....

Don't be a fool. At least I can accept that the Indian batsman are very very good.
