How is it being a formality better than A.B vs Viv or Sachin in the ist round.

Seeding works IMO

Seeding is irrelevant if you're looking for a outright winner as whoever they play they'll beat regardless.

In a knockout, only 1 place can be determined so it doesn't matter either way. Seeding just makes the first round a procession

The average is great due to not outs, and the SR probably is too, but it's a run of the mill RPI. A great run of form inevitably involves an RPI thats better than your career average at the least.

TBF, Klusener was the senior partner and needed to shepherd Donald there.

His 0*(5) in the 2003 exit went further in proving that he wasn't a complete ODI batsman by any stretch of imagination.

yeah it explains the low RPI, but it also doesn't necessarily strengthen the case for calling it the ATB WC performance, unless you mean statistically with the average. Runs are runs, and scoring a lot of them is better than not scoring a lot of them.

And by batting that low it shows a lot about how good a batsman he actually was.
