Battrick Cup Part Four

Most likely going to get beaten by SPCC in the match starting in a few hours, morale is pessimistic and my batsmen don't know which end of the bat to hold anymore. Perfect bowling conditions won't help. Have a chance to set orders at least, would've played a default lineup if the site was still down, which would've included a worthless bowler or two.

Ashton's managing to keep the run chase together.

End of Over 33: 130-2, runrate=3.94, reqrunrate=5.71 (226-10)
Dillon 10-0-29-0
Ashton* 87 (114 balls)
Boeta 6 (32 balls)
Last Wicket: Cuss Run Out 29 (FOW: 108/2)

Watkins and Whitehorne still to come, so should be able to get there as long as the required rate doesn't blow out too high.

Edit: lost four wickets in one over to a crap bowler and lost, **** off.

A pretty straightforward win against Kweek, in the end - definitely not what I expected, but I'll take it :)

I've had some SERIOUS good luck this season!

Scaly challenged, at his place - I think that's right.

Just had a look at Scaly vs Asterix - phew, that was close! I'm definitely not looking forward to the uneven pitch.

It'll be green for my league game, don't know what it'll be after that

the last time I faced College Dropouts it was a rather dramatic match. 699 runs were scored all up, with Whenuapai chasing down 350 to win it. That game was played on a hard and fast pitch. I'm not sure if the green pitch will allow for such batting craziness this time. I think it'll be an affair dominated by the bowlers. Still, College Dropouts have some class acts, and should put up a good fight.

At the moment, I'm picking Scaly Piscine to win the title. His side looks really solid and will be hard to beat I think

I'm pretty biased, but I'll predict me versus thee in the final, Nibbs...I suspect Scaly might have something to say about that, though ;)

Yeah, smart money would be on a Whenuapai - Withington final IMO, though definitely not counting Scaly out, I mean he's already knocked Adam out, and brenoevo could always pull something out of the bag... I can see his top 3 all scoring heavily against a Lee-dependant attack.

Still sticking with my Whenuapai v Withington prediction, unless the latter doesn't play a full strength team. I think you're selling nibbs' bowlers a bit short, Lee is obviously the star bowler but the others are all decent enough.

Trust me, it'll be full-strength!

I think I need 2pts from my last two league games to guarantee promotion.

Well predicted, by the way.

Although my side is certainly based around our batsmen, tbh our bowling attack doesn't revolve around Lee. In most games Lee has been very economical, but he hasn't always taken wickets galore. The only bowler in my side who has really struggled in division II has been Henshaw. At the age of 30, and being a respectable/feeble this was to be expected. Vermaak, well, he is a work in progress, but with a little hope he'll start to become more consistent by the time next season comes around. My division has several current and former New Zealand NT batsmen, yet we have

This season btw ~

Mutasa 45 @ 17
Sweeney 36 @ 19
Lee 31 @ 14
Hamshaw 22 @ 28
Henshaw 14 @ 32
Vermaak 10 @ 42

Ye cant see my guys beating nibbs. Hopefully they can put up a bit of a fight so it doesnt end in a walk over, pretty surprised iv actually made it this far into the comp tbh.

Just read through this whole thread. The Smith-Young and Scaly-Adam encounters certainly the most thrilling.
