Battrick Cup Part Four

Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
Lost to VCC, as expected. A few more runs on the board would've made it interesting though

Magical Ponies 145 (38.2)
Griffin 69 (91), Kilkenny 43 (71), Parr 7 (19)
Wotton 4/41 (9.2), Graham 3/27 (10)

VCC 5/147 (38.0)
Nosworth 58 (126), Osman 47 (40), Baldwin 28* (46)
Fernando 2/29 (9), Tedstone 1/8 (5)

And as I was looking at the scorecard then, I just realised that I must have had my bowling orders set to something other than sets of 5, which is a bit annoying. Ah well. Decent ratings, but strange MOTM.

VCC Magical Ponies
Top Order: proficient competent
Middle Order: feeble respectable
Lower Order: abysmal abysmal
Seam Bowling: proficient proficient
Spin Bowling: respectable respectable
Fielding: feeble abysmal
MOTM: Griffin

The quarter final draw is as follows, all drawn randomy:

Quarter Final Draw (home team listed first)

Dalmeny Cricket Club vs College Dropouts (Match 1)
Anchormen vs Whenuapai CC (Match 2)
Scaly Piscine CC vs Asterix XI (Match 3)
Withington Wonderers vs VCC (Match 4)

May as well add that the semi final draw will be -
Winner Match 1 vs Winner Match 2
Winner Match 3 vs Winner Match 4

And obviously the final will be the winners of both semis. Gutted to have drawn nibbs, no real chance of getting through. Good luck everyone.

Hmm I'll probably lose considering my recent form, and if I don't Withington Wonderers will beat me. Will lose on Friday as well so my ratings are only going to get worse.

Grump grump grump grump grump ;)

My top/middle order have failed pretty comprehensively in my last two league games, so I'm taking nothing for granted.

Oh joy, I get the draw I would have gotten anyway, the stupid one where the finalists last time meet in the quarters.

 It was randomly done, but I think it worked out fine regardless (ie; not much would have changed if it had been based on seeds) - you'd be 5th-6th seed anyway.

5th seed - if you're going to say how well it has worked out by comparing it to what would have happened if you'd seeded it why bother with a random draw anyway?

Oh and 5th seed would obviously play 4th seed - which is vastly different to playing the 1st seed anyway.

I don't use that as a benchmark for how well it works, but it seems that you'd have preferred a seed system, so I was making the comparison for your sake.

Kweek's got some very fine players for a side in Div IV.

Getting thumped by Nibbs as expected. He made 8/324, now we're chasing. What I didn't expect though is for Gray to go out for 0 (1) to Sweeney  Ah well. Bhutia made a solid 25 (27). Hopefully we scrape 200, that'd be nice. Expecting Lee to kill us tbh.

End of Over 15: 89-3, runrate=5.93, reqrunrate=6.74 (324-8)
Vermaak 3-0-24-1
Mcmillan* 51 (48 balls)
