Battle of the Test Innings

Richards.

Coming in with the side in a fair bit of trouble against a pretty good attack > a no pressure slogathon.

Plus, Hussain also had a double century that match...leading me to believe that the pitch wasn't exactly nightmarish.

Thorpe got the double.

IIRC the 1st 2 innings were hard for batting, and Hussain's ton was a really superb knock.

Has to be Astle. Still stands as the fastest double century and it was phenominal to watch. While NZ didnt win the match as a result of the innings, the hole they had dug for themselves made that a virtually impossible task anyway. The fact he finished off the innings batting with an injured Cairns ices the cake for me. A powerful example of sutained attack at its best.

Bleh, someone else also scored a century in Richards Innings, and another person had a double century as well (on the opposite team) for Astle......so neither of them are all up there for me.

But, since WI won and NZ didn't...so gotta go with Sir Viv.
WI drew the match man.

This is tough.

Richards knock was against a good attack who also happened to be inform during that series especially Imran and Qadir while Astle knock was on a better wicket against a good but not great attack but it was exhilarating to watch so yeah i will go for Astle.

Vivs, I saw Astles innings, but I always thought it was done in a relaxed mood, because they were sure they'd lose the match.
