Battle of the Test Innings

Bannerman's innings deserves inclusion, I think. Not only is it the first great test innings, but it still holds the record for the highest percentage of a team total.

Timbo, you have to include Michael Slater's 123 against England at the SCG in 98/99. He scored 123 out of 184 in the second innings to set up a 98 run victory.

School Boy/Girl Cricketer
Laxman's 167 out of a team total of 223 at Sydney Vs AUS in 1999-2000

Dravid's 270 at Rawalpindi vs pakistan in 2004 which won the Test series for India

When you run this thing Tim, I think it would be a good idea to include links with the scorecards.

BARNES OUT
Graeme Smiths' 259 against England at Lords in 2003.

It's not exactly one of the greatest innings but he looked superb and deserves mention.

[Note: I rate this higher than the 277 because there was actually a result, and though albeit only slightly, the pitch wasn't as flat as the previous.]

I'd firstly nominate Mike Atherton's 185* from the 2nd innings of the 2nd test v South Africa on our 1995/96 tour. The definitive rearguard innings for me. Batted for 165 overs unbeaten to save the test:

& secondly, it's diametric opposite, Beefy's 149* at Headingley in 1981. A fantastic display of unbridled & devil-may-care hitting. Gave us a sufficient sniff & Sir Bob turned in the bowling display of his career for us to nick the test:

That shouldn't count as dean headley ran him out by over 1 metere much ealier. Damn 3rd umpire.

Matthew Hayden's 119 in Sharjah against Pakistan. Not only was it in obscene heat, when nobody else made runs, but he also outscored the entire Pakistan team from both innings combined with it. The bowling attack wasn't bad either.
