A few of the oldies or at least one should be included, here is a list

Ernie Jones- after seeing Larwood he said 'he couldn't make a dent in a pound of butter on a hot day'

Walter Brearley after seeing Gregory and Mcdonald "I could throw my hat faster"

Tom Richardson
Charles Kortright
Tibby Cotter
Lockwood

Despite his pace, Kortright was never selected for England, and his county stats suggest this was a fair decision, so to even contemplate including him in this list is ludicrous.

The legendary Tom Richardson should be included, 1000 wickets in 4 years is nothing short of mind boggling.

True; but most of his contemporaries considered him the fastest bowler they ever faced, for a couple of seasons. After reading his bio. by Anthony Meredith I think he deserves a place. He would have been selected for England but for the lack of Test Matches, that were not played every year, in his day, as they are now.

I'm thinking of ditching the pictures.

It's not any real effort, just wondering if you guys liked them or not?
Keep them, they make it more interesting...

Yeah keep the pictures, and thanks for the tourny Jamee. It was quite interesting to see how great players went up against each other and what the opinions of CW members were in regards to who was better.

I do agree with AMZ though, you can't have Harmison in the next tournament of best fast bowlers. Way too early, he hasn't done enough.

I would take out Cowie, Fazal and Streak out of it IMO there not good enough to be in it. All very good bowlers but not great.

I notice that you don't have Sid Barnes and Lohmann. Not sure about the other guy.

Barnes and Lohmann weren't exactly "fast" either. Fazal is certainly good enough to make it, but I could live with seeing the other two go.

I wouldn't mind seeing Srinath in there over Streak, just so there's a second Indian.

Botham would be the best bet for the other spot.

Yep Botham is a must, and if we are having guys to fill in country quoates then Vaas should be there. But him, Streak and Srinath aren't good enough IMO.

Keep a criteria for including players. for example bowlers with 50 or more wickets in tests with an average of less than 25 and a lower average necessary for players with lesser wickets because the team played less tests in the player's era.

If the number of cricketers you need does not qualify with an average of 25, raise the average a bit higher.

Try a profile maybe a Wisden cricketer of the year profile or an article by a great player from the past on the players who battle.

Some interesting facts about the player where possible.

Also, as some one said, seedings should be done away with. Would make the competition a lot more exciting.
