As is the fact that many people vote with their heart rather than their head.
Its a fun competition. We all know Bradman is better than Warne. :p

If the idea was to decide who the greatest cricketer of all time is, a one off between Sobers and Bradman (for people believing Sobers was the better cricketer because of his all round skills) could have been done and that would have been that.

They shouldn't be in it, that's why I'm not voting for them. Actually, i'd vote for Warney anyway, what a guy

Warne, leg spinner. great bowler..this guy can do magic.
Bradman is just stories and stats for me. never saw the man play so can't say.

I didn't see Bradman play live, obviously - although I've certainly seen plenty of footage, as have probably most of us.

This comp was always going to be difficult when it came to players of older eras. It does feel silly sometimes to vote for somebody who you've never seen, and I usually try to avoid it. I make an exception sometimes for when I've read a lot about a particular player, or their record simply can't be ignored.

With Bradman, you can read books or watch historical documentaries completely unrelated to cricket, and you cannot help but be struck by the massive effect this man had, both on the game, and on the general public (both here AND around the world, particularly England). The man was a legend in his own lifetime that stood head and shoulders above many players who even now are regarded as some of the greats. And his record still stands head and shoulders above anything anybody in the game ever accomplished, before or since. There are so few sports players that can lay such an inarguable claim. Of course, I'm stating the obvious - but IMO, great player that he is, Warne can't possibly top the Don - even on intangibles.
