Battle of the Cricketers

GIMH

Norwood's on Fire
Donald. One of the great fast bowlers. His duel with Atherton helped me to become a Cricket follower

BTW, any thoughts on the next series? If there's sufficient enthusiasm, of course. The battle of the spinners is the obvious sequel, but I'm a tad concerned it might go down the usual "He's a chucker", "He's a drugs cheat" route...
I was thinking Battle of the Englishmen (I think). Before I gave up :p

Englishman
White Lightening has his champions, but the Prince of Pakistan has more; Imran advances to the semis 12-7.

As before, a totally random draw for the semis &, would you believe it, he's going back-to-back:

Semi-final 1

Curtly Ambrose

vs

Imran Khan

The two suggestions for the next series are spinners or Englishmen. If anyone has a burning desire to see one or the other I'd be grateful if you could let me know.

Alternative suggestions are equally welcome. :)

Two of my 3 favourite fast bowlers of all time. Ridiculously hard to choose here. Imran was a warrior who battle hard for his country time and time again with much success, but Ambrose was lethal, vicious, yet relaxed and cool all at the same time. On top of that he wasn't a bad bowler. Ambrose has my vote.

In regards to the next one, go Englishman. That way it'd eliminate English bias. Kidding :p

It is similar to the round that Lillee was beaten by Ambrose.

Both Lillee and Imran were more skilled and rounded fast bowlers but the edge goes to Ambrose

Ambrose

Yeah, we could keep it going a while with countries. (New Zealand kind of has a given final tho. :p ).

Imran for me. Country legend.

What about doing a battle of the batsmen (other than Bradman) for obvious reasons. Lara and Tendulkar to be on opposite sides of the draw.
