Much as i want to vote for Bill because he's a Victorian, and the crowd loves him, and the 'Gs abuzz, the big man, the big nose, ITS ALL HAPPENING!!!

AND
because he regularly attempts to put Greigy back in his box,

On the basis of performance, inc. brilliant slips fielding, better spin than his figures reflect and coming out of retirement at 40 to save Australia during WSC, my vote goes to SIMMO

Simpson for his additional skill as a leg spinner and even more importantly because he was one of the greatest slip fielders the game has ever seen.

Simpson. For the reasons stated by SJS and for his services to CA as a cricketer, Captain and Coach. He came out of the retirement to lead the aussie team during the packer circus and along with Alan Border he laid the foundation of the Strong Aussie team we have seen in last 15 years or so.

I'll go Lawry myself. I suspect, rather like Boycott & Barrington and to a lesser extent the later period SR Waugh, he was a rather better batter than his low-risk approach allowed himself to be.
