A couple I missed out the first time round because they were Aussies. But they are my favourite Aussie players:

Langer's 82 on the first day at Brisbane in 09, after the head injury and loads of pressure on his place from Jaques, just came out and smashed it. Set the tone for the series the same way Harmy did on the first morning in 05... and what's more JL'd been obsessing about it ever since that moment.

Watson's first innings opening the batting, Freddie comes in with loads and huff and puff and postures at him, Watson just laughs. Cute.

No, I remember his hundred from Ashes '93 better, in the match in which Mark Waugh got 99.

Actually that match is a worthy nomination, if not for the newspaper headlines after Australia's first innings.

Taylor got 111 (iir), Slater 160-odd, Boon 100+ and Mark Waugh 99. Apparently it would have been th efirt time the op four in a test team all got tons in the same innings.

One of the UK tabloid's headlines next day was "Waugh Fails".

Alright, Johnson's first innings spell at Lord's 09, up to him getting Cook out. One of the best spells I have ever watched, as an Englishman.

Martin McCauge in 94/95 was bad too. For every bad Johnson Ashes spell there's 20 years of woeful England ones to mention!

Nah the moment Gilly launched Panesar into the Long-On/MidWicket Crowd the third time and Flintoff just watches it with the stunned mullet look on his face.
