Battle of the Ashes Moments

Ftr you nominated 3 things and all 3 have advanced.
Oh did I. Excellent. Still think some of the nominations are fairly shoddy though. I do remember coming back on to add some others but it'd started already. Not your fault though

Yeah, as I said I needed some stuff to pad it out and went for whatever I found on the premise that if it hasn't been nominated already it probably won't win.

This is such a **** battle. There's been a 100 years of ashes moments but apparently the only things worthy of mention happened in the past five years
No, I really don't. And in any case, they are usually justified.
Marcuss is right though, everyone got a chance to nominate. And okay, the Barmy Army one is not one I'd go for, but the other two are two of my favourite Ashes moments, cricket moments even. Because I'm English and in my mid-twenties so yes, my favourite Ashes moments will come from 05 and 09.

Now let's all hug it out

Ahhh... Great battle this. Remember Randall and the Thommo-AB partnership, the latter like it was yesterday. Interesting that GC opted to bowl first that match, just saying...

Iirc Randall doffed his cap to Lillee in the first dig, just before he was caught behind. What a match that was.

Still, going to shout out for Tate here. Phenomenal performance.

On a different plain altogether was his 174 in 1977 in the Centenary Test against a strong Australia side at Melbourne. With England chasing an improbable 463 to win, Randall took them unbelievably close - doffing his cap to the mighty Dennis Lillee in the process after just evading a bouncer - but in the end their valiant chase fell 46 runs short.
What I went off :)
