Baggy Green ball tampering: Bancroft, Smith and the Aussie "Leadership Group"

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
I guess throwing the book at 3 people who have already been implicated is easier than disciplining half to all of the team plus coaching staff.

If Lehmann didn’t know then he’s not doing his job. If he did know then he should be stood down.

I think either way he should go. I don’t see how he could in any way engineer the sort of cultural change the team needs, because everything I’ve aeen, hear or read from him basically encapsulates the culture as it currently is.
I find it hard to believe that a bunch of batsmen concoted this plan and the fast bowlers were blissfully unaware.

What's with all Lehmann hate? Under him, Australia came close to almost wining the series in India. Yes it took years to get there but it was a vast improvement nonetheless and shouldn't be ignored when evaluating him as a coach.

Haha - in fact, if he'd actually come out to the interview and said to each journalist present in the room '**** you, **** you, **** you, **** you and **** you too. And **** you all. Now **** off' and walked off, the whole thing would probably have fared better for him/Australian cricket.
AB would have probably approved too.

Results aren't everything. There's no point winning if you do stupid stunts like this giving the world excuses to claim you're just winning because you cheated

Exactly, even under a scenario where he wasn't aware it still looks bad on him, see what I wrote about Smith in the Warner thread.

Perhaps there's more players involved then first appears. If so, this could get really ugly.

I find it hard to believe anything other than everyone knew about it tbh, otherwise how do you make sure Bancroft gets his hands on the ball enough to make a difference?
