All this addition of two measures that produce such different numbers is beginning to annoy me, tbh. Learn to multiply and weight for importance, ****s. :p

Yeah, just like with the batting, weighting is needed.

Economy rate far more important than average.

Yeah and there's such a little discrepancy in economy rate figures, and they're all much lower than averages anyway.

Athlai pretty much made a list of the best T20 averages with economy rate being factored in if they were really close. :p

I don't really see the point in this. Although stats can be misleading, seeing a batsman's average and strike rate can be a loose indicator of how good they are and how fast they score (especially with enough innings for sufficent qualification).

Homogenizing everything isn't going to help anything.

i'd love it if somebody actually did something developed a fielding metric i hate rubbish like 'ponting will usually hit that 9 out of 10 times' when he misses a throw when it's clearly not true
