That's what I'd do tbh unless Renshaw actually starts making runs.Renshaw will get eaten alive by Steyn, Philander, Rabada and Morkel.
Bancroft too though, probably. Tempting to move Khawaja or Smarsh up to open and bring in a well-performed middle-order player, Maxwell?

You'd say the same about Steve Smith if you only watched the Adelaide test. It's the thing about "different" techniques, when they don't work you look like an idiot.I know its none of my business, and i shouldnt really comment on australian cricketers ability after what they have just done to us, but in the 2 ashes tests that he played in, handscomb looked an absolute hack. Truly awful
The only way Renshaw sees off the new ball in South Africa is if he does what he did on debut and inexplicably plays and misses 40 times without getting an edgeBurns is as bad as Bancroft. Renshaw could at least see of the new ball
Agree 100%, Marsh played a critical role in the middle order, some of the best cricket I have seen him play, its only right he gets the chance to cement himself there. Moving him to open is a risk not worth taking imo, it may revive his old habit of being a notoriously nervous starter.I’d avoid moving Darsh if at all possible. He’s been fantastic at five and looks completely at home there. His defensive technique is probably the tightest out of both teams this Ashes series.
I've seen enough of Burns this season to convince me he's worked out some kinks in his technique.Burns is as bad as Bancroft. Renshaw could at least see of the new ball
